I should have elaborated on the trick. It's not just spamming death, if you have 3TP and Vanille is your group leader you can use her summon to knock them over so they're helpless for about a minute or longer, giving you all the time you need to spam Death on them.

ha, this works great thanks
So, Helter-skelter at level 20, Brawlers Wristband maxed (120str) and Aurora scarf maxed on Lightning, is freaking stupid right now. 470str (can push helter probably 10+ levels more though if I wanted) with full atb gauge at start of fights. Makes both RAV and COM sick. Don't think Axis would be nearly as fun right now. I tried it with Whistlewind scarf for a bit but it just isn't as lol.
Next playthrough I'll either go Axis or Default weapon. So far though this is pretty fun with this setup.
Using aurora, you'll want them haste boots asap too, even with helter as it synergizes with scarf (and axis XD). Enkindler, aurora and sprint shoes is 20% atb per hit. Those 8+ enemy encounters goin down in seconds with ruinga/thundaga lol.
Hmm looking at her weps though, I'm probably going to make lionheart into omega.
Is it true that if you upgrade Axis Blade to Omega Weapon it doesn't count as an item for the ATB Boost synthesized ability combo anymore?
edit: Do the auto-haste boots have a permanent effect, or does it wear off after a while like some of the other auto-casting items?
I'm too tired to read all of the thread right now so I don't know if this has been answered but, is it worth upgraded the lower level weapons really? I'm only on chapter 7 and new weapons seem few and far between.
It still counts as far as I have read, but personally, I think Ill prefer the Lionhearts extra stats & ability in omega form.
auto-haste does wear off like any other buff, but I have yet to have a non-boss battle take that long, in which case Im using Hope who has haste now anyway.
Any weapon can be used effectively, just choose which you like best as each is tailored to a certain way of playing. The upgrades make a pretty nice difference and the first one you get can be upgraded and be the only weapon you ever use if desired. http://ff-13.info/category/weapons/ has a listing of all thier starting/ending stats if you want to compare
For the final upgrade metal thing if you take apart a kains lance(fangs final weapon) you get 3 of them along with a bunch of other stuff.
I dismantled a Tetra Crown to get the Haste Boots, so I can pair them with Aurora Scarf to get 10% speed and switched to a stronger weapon now and am really liking it.
I'll probably use Axis Blade mostly for situations where I'm using Light to quickly build the stagger gauge. It's really good for that. I'm looking forward to getting her multi-hit skill for some fun stagger spam.
I upgraded the ATB neck scarf and transformed it with a rhodonite, or something, i was really tired at the time.
I cant log on atm but the neck piece gives me "Attack first" and i start the battle with a full ATB gauge.
That's the Aurora Scarf. You get full ATB at the start and it's one of the items that combo to give ATB Boost: +%. The percent increase depends on how many you equip from 10% for 2 to 30% for 5.
The other items that combo are Light's Axis Blade, Sazh's Antares Deluxe, Hope's Othsirvani and some accessories- Whistlewind Scarf, Aurora Scarf, Hermes Sandals, Sprint Shoes, and Nimbletoe Boots.
From the shops, what is the best gil/exp item ratio?
When do weapons usually cap? Most of my weapons are in the lv20's... and still going.
BTW, has anyone actually tried leveling new weapons you find during the playthrough? I pretty much stick to the first couple of weapons each char gets and choose one of those since they're easy to level and get high str/magic on them... but I dunno if there are better ways of getting stronger weapons, since new weapons that pop up usually end up having better added effects (but like 2k xp to level to level 2 so obviously not worth it..)
Also, any point of leveling accessories? So far I've only concentrated on weapons, didn't see much point in evolving rings etc.
What is better to Upgrade, Gladius or Axis Blade? The Gladius gets alot more STR but the Axis has the ATB Charge thingie.
