Sorry, but "sazz" sounds retarded to me. Sounds like "azz" and "sass" put together "sah-zzz" sounds more natural. Doesn't seem like a stretch to me, that's just how Sazh sounded in my head before it was spoken in-game.

It's tee-duss not tie-dus, his japanese name is Tida, and in japanese they pronounce shit the way they spell it. I am more interested in how to pronounce "rinoa" tbh. People say its french and should be ree-noah. I like ree-no-ah personally.

Well, the way I pronounce these differently is by placing the accent on a different syllable. Most people seem to read it as “noah” like Noah from the Bible. I tend to read it separately as in ri-no-Ah! as this makes sense when you take into account the separate syllables in Japanese リノア. Since this is a made up name unlike Squall, Cloud, or even Ultimecia that clearly comes from Ultima/Ultimate.

His name is based on an english word, and then turned into romanji (as they always do with foreign words) where it's pronounced with the Japanese "alphabet" and ultimately mispronounced because they don't have the same syllables as we do. If you can't see that his name is a reference to an english word pertaining to water and just wanted to show off your IME, that's sad.

Also, Tidus is associated with water all around. So Tide-us makes me sense then TEEDUS.

That was Hildagarde Fabool. Brynhildr is named after the Valkyrie from Norse Mythology.

I understand it's from Norse mythology (as goes for half of everything in final fantasies), but I'm like 90% certain I've seen "Brunhilde" as a character name in like one other FF installment... not so much a regular appearance. And not just a summoned Valkyrie in FFXI's Einherjar Odin
