Looking for a time filler

I have only been plaing MW2 recently because my account was jacked for ffxi. I'm mainly into rpg and rts, would love to play an awesome rts. I haven't played the most recent Civ, I've been thinking about getting that and all the expansions for it. I really haven't played anything due to my addiction to ffxi but now I'm looking. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Also, looking for either PS3 or PC games.

There's a somewhat decent rpg that just came out for the ps3 yesterday. Not that popular, but would be a decent time filler.

Going old on this one, but you just can't go wrong with Orange Box (Half-life 2 w/ ex packs, Ep1, Ep2, Portal & TF2) or Fallout 3 GOTY Edition. Both will have you going for a good while..

Why don't you combine your 2 loves and pick up Valkyria Chronicles, sure it's turn based, but it is an SRPG.

You actually have the same type of favorites i do. RPG and RTS.

I would say to go for Fallout 3: Game of the year edition. You get all of the addons added automaticaly upon instalation and it is a great RPG. (gives you a chance to get away from sword fights also.) The only problem you might have with the game is that itll freeze every so often. But due to frequent autosaves, you never lose much progress.

As for RTS... there really hasnt been any decent RTS games to have come out lately. You could apply to get into the Star Craft 2 beta. The beta is currently going, and the game should be coming out soon. Its looking like it will live up to its hype.

Both have guns and stuff, btw i loooooove the minigun in Fallout 3 (it made me chuckle a little bit at all the carnage), so you should like them.

Well, I loved Dawn of War 2, and the expansion just came out today. Then again, I'm a huge Warhammer 40k fan, so some of the flavor would probably be lost on a non-player.

You just answered your own question, Civ 4 is incredible. If you are into the genre you'll be blown away.
