It's a JRPG, why is winning with 1 button somehow a negative thing?
Explains all the JP in FFXI pretty well
Again, why is winning with 1 button in a JRPG a bad thing? The first dozen games were essentially pressing confirm/back on a fucking menu. Furthermore, if people are complaining about autopilot why even bring up XII? What? Effortless vs Effortless done right?
Complaining about single buttoning a JRPG seems like complaining about 236ing in a fighter, shit happens.
So... Ryko, your entire argument is that flaws should stay present in games because they are tradition?
No, my argument is complaining about a mainstay in a genre and acting like somehow it's valid to bitch about when you knew damn well it was going to be there is fucking moronic. You buy an FF knowing full well that if the basic formula hasn't fucking changed for the last 16 fucking games it probably isn't going to now. You buy tales games knowing full fucking well that if their basic formula hasnt changed for the last dozen games it probably isn't going to now. You buy a street fighter knowing full well that if you QCF with 3 punches, ryu's gonna rape someone's face off. Duh.
Yup.
You dumb faggot, a good majority of JRPGs are this way to the point that if one were to bet on how one would essentially work, the safe money would be on menu scrolling and overworld exploring. If you want FF to be a tales game go buy a fucking tales game. I don't look into MMOs then bitch that they haven't done away with the grind. I don't buy a zelda and bitch that it's another dungeon crawler with the same old bullshit sword shield hookshot bow blah blah blah.
I think you fellows should expand your horizons, play more than just Squaresoft RPGs.
this is a good thread
On a serious note, in Tales do you have to select what attack you are using or do you just press triangle for (example) punch and X for kick something like that?
