I got the move last Friday, its really fun! The games got semi-dull and Sports Champions (archery at least) got downright rage inducing since the computer would start shooting the targets before they were even fully out of the ground ._.;
Alas the Move itself is amazing as most of you have said, its supa dupa responsive!
Maybe it will make Killzone3 fun for me since I wont have to crab claw the controller~
If Metal Gear Rising supports this I will poop in my pants.
Rising would be a nice game for Move controls. A simple swing motion to give the game the desired angle would work fine with the game since it appears to have a button you hold down to engage the aiming for the katana if the E3/TGS demos were anything to go by. Would be a shitload faster for precision work than adjusting the angle manually via analog stick.
I would like some feedback on this if possible... tell me if I'm being crazy.
I really think that a lot of the major gaming sites seriously shortchanged Sports Champions. I am blown away by how accurate and engaging all the sports are. I just finished the Gold Cup in Table Tennis, and I was REALLY playing Table Tennis. It was nothing short of amazing. I used to play all the time and my real-life motions translated practically perfectly.
I don't think this game is an 8. Not by a long-shot. This game strikes me as a 9-9.5. Almost the entire time I'm playing, I'm thinking "I can't believe I'm doing this, AND IT'S WORKING. lol
I just think that when games/tech that significantly change things come along, they should be rewarded. I was totally afraid of devs even allocation 2% of their resources for motion-based gaming, but after having played it, I don't mind at all. I was honestly expecting a waggle-fest, and it's quite the opposite.
I don't know, do you guys who have played Sports Champions (or any other of the Move games, I've only played Time Crisis which was boring and Tumble Demo which was very good) think it's an 8?
7 no doubt. If it had more music (besides the custom music you can add in) then i'd give it a 9. Gladiator duel is a prime example of setting atmosphere that the other games don't have. But still, the gameplay itself on each is awesome (just wish archery didnt give my arms such a workout)
Game got knocked down hard for its presentation values mainly.
We're talking lack of music, generic characters (when the heck is Sony going to allow us to use our Homies in games >.>), no online (would have been a bitch to implement for the realtime games though), linear progression per game, etc. Install option would have been nice since the initial load per game mode takes a bit.
At its core though the gameplay is solid and works to the point where it doesn't just feel like a tech demo to me. Only thing I could ask for was a more 'pro' mode for Table Tennis that didn't have such a leeway on where your paddle needs to be positioned to hit the ball. As it stands after a couple hours of playing it, as long as my paddle is on the correct side of the table, it's pretty much a guaranteed hit if I swing at the right time.
The paddle thing remains pretty constant throughout the difficulties, but damn, Kenji and the "secret" opponent at the end of the gold cup worked me out hard. Probably gonna shoot for the Championship Cup tomorrow. My shoulder gets sore after a couple hours.![]()
Game makes me curious what they'll add in for DLC modes. I could use as many as possible to get the platinum as one of the gold trophies demands 600 stars, where the most I get on all the games is 2 out of 3 per round. >.>
I've never dabbled in archery, but this gives my lazy ass a very believable experience. Archery is difficult to enjoy without a pair of controllers -- but it's amazing when the pair's complete.
I dunno. For me, archery isn't archery when you aren't fucking up your stance and having the string of the bow snap across your forearm. ;/
They really need it accessible though with the path guide and zoom-in though, which for me kinda defeats the point of the accuracy to begin with, all it does is allow quicker positioning.

For anyone that wants to know how well the pointer works in some games (this is The Shoot).
Looks pretty fucking responsive to me.
That's simply moving a crosshair about the screen, and not aiming down the controller like a lightgun.
Speaking of crosshairs though, I hope the guys developing Move games for the PS3 know how to process the cursor at 60fps even when the game isn't running up to snuff, or else we'll have the usual input lag that a lot of Wii games did running with everything locked at 30fps.
Your first mistake is that you actually bought a Wii.
Second mistake is the ending sentence of your troll -- it gives away too much. 3/10, I was gettin' mayud for like, 5 seconds.
Also, Dallas in Table Tennis Silver Cup makes me want to put a hole in my monitor. He keeps placing the ball right in front of me, and GODDAMNIT HE RETURNS EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY SMASHES.
wii isn't as terrible as everyone thinks it is, and move isn't as great as everyone thinks it is, I'm not sure why it needs to be a competition
Competition is good for the consumers, it should be one. Hush up.
Your loss. Wasnt trolling. Desired effect.
I win.
Exactly what I was getting at. PS3 fellationists see this as new and innovative, much like 3D, when infact there is nothing "ground breaking" about it. Ill let you speak the gospel though, ill just attract the sony horde.
I don't think you've tried it. If you had, I'm pretty sure your answer would be different. OR it would be the same, and you just want a reaction. In truth, it is by far the best motion controls I have tried. We do have a Wii that sits in the corner of the living room, I should put some paper under it and make it useful. I didn't buy it mind you, and I'm sure I'll use it again some day.
It's just eyetoy updated for ps3.
Nothing new really.
Then against, we've had "motion control" since the Sega Activator.
