Just got to chapter 10.
I was gonna use Lightning, Vanille, and Fang originally, but I wanna keep Lightning as Com so I replaced Fang with Sazh for the nice haste/bravery/faith spells.
Light's RAV isn't all that bad, I've been plowing through mobs with Light/RAV Fang/Com Hope/Sazh/SYN at the start of battle, then switch to RAV/COM/RAV or COM/COM/RAV. My Hope has a shiton of Magic which is why I stick with him over Sazh, and my Hope was no where near upgraded as much as I had Sazh.
Light/Fang/Hope after Hope gets Haste.
I'm thinking her RAV most be great later on cause where I'm at she only has a couple of -strikes and I only use her RAV for the quick stagger. She's kind of retarded when I press auto-fight, she ends up throwing spells out instead of only -strikes. And tbh, even though -strikes are strength based, they only seem to dish out the real damage if the mob is weak to the element. Otherwise her COM role for me does a lot more damage.
I just got to the part where you can change your party so I have it sey to Light/Sazh/Snow Base:Com/Syn/Rav until haste/bravery/faith is up, then i switch to Com/Rav/Rav unless it's a mob that has super defense like a behemoth or an armadon type mob then I do RAVx3 and once it gets staggered (Assuming i'm only fighting one thing) I switch to Com/Rav/Com because I still think that Com seems to dish out more damage than Rav for the melee characters.
And of course I swap to Med/Syn/Sen for when things start to get hairy, I heal while sazh refreshes buffs, and snow tanks til I get things back together.
Am I the only one who just rotates through my own party after 2 hours because playing as the same peoplez get boring?
Generally speaking, Commando is the best choice for a strong, single, staggered enemy.
Launch, Smite, Jeopardize, paired up with an enspell is nommmm.
Been using Light/Fang/Hope since I had been able to make my own parties. Didn't throw in Sazh, just couldn't work with him and having to main heal myself sometimes. Not that I don't mind it, just rather focus on the mob. Hope just got Haste so everything will just seem so much better![]()
Was finally able to bench Sazh now that Hope has haste.
Now I'm using Fang/Vanille in the third slot.
Also, does it bother anyone else that Alexander is the strongest Eidolon?
No, Alexander is badass.
3com blitz spam
So I just figured out that all of fang's -ra spells aren't actually AOE, just more potent, uh... that sucksI think I might go back to using Hope now
Personally through this whole game I only used the summons when they were mandatory.. anything I should know if I start using them more often?
edited out, wrong thread!
I usually main either Fang or Hope because, let's face it, they have the strongest summons.
Alexander tears apart entire waves of mobs and Bahamut is a boss killer.
I cycle through all 6 characters depending on what I need, my priority is usually 2 main MEDs or a MED + SEN when it comes to boss fights.
Sazh is a dilemma... if I don't main him he casts pointless buffs, but if I do I get to use the weakest Eidolon instead of the good ones... meh.
What makes the difference between the strength on all the Eidolons?
What makes Alexander and Bahamut so strong? Are they just naturally like that?
And yeah, super annoying when AI party members do silly things like use a mix of magic/strikes during Ravager when they have significantly higher in one stat and the enemy doesn't have any specific weaknesses.
Doesn't the AI mix spells/strikes some times because it raises the stagger bar quicker?
Finally got to Gran Pulse. Until I can get some more HP on him I'm retiring Hope. It has to be the mob AI because this character is getting owned nonstop. Light/Fang/Sazh at the moment with having given Sazh very basic MED abilities.
