What women!?
all those women
It's pretty expensive to live here, so if you make good money then Seattle is a pretty decent place to live. Late Autumn and all of Winter are constant overcast, lots of all day rain. Early Autumn is rigoddamndiculous because of how many trees are in the area. Everything turns orange and yellow, pretty epic. Spring can be rainy, but when it's not raining it's sunny and clear out, but it might not very warm. Summer on the other hand, is usually 85+ every day, clear skies and nothing but sun.
This is definitely a hippie city, but it's not the retarded new age creeper shit you see in movies. Just a lot of stoners and drug addicts who live in houseboat communities. They kinda leave everyone alone, unless you want some druuuuuuuugs~
Decent local music scene, seafood here is pretty much as fresh as you can get on the west coast (arguable obviously), uh.. cops here are too retarded to worry about. 4 hours north is Canada. 4 hours West is the Pacific Ocean (lots of coastal resorts & casinos & what not). 1-2 hours East is the Cascade Mountains (snowboarding, skiing, casinos, etc). 3-4 hours East past the mountains is Eastern Washington which is all farmland, so it's flat and boring, but fun to look at (green fields for 9999999999 miles and fruit stands everywhere).
Need anymore info let me know.
Oh. Bus system here is really good. You can basically go anywhere. It's like $2.50-$2.75 now though. We've got a "light rail" running now that is basically just a monorail that goes from Sea-Tac Airport to Downtown Seattle or something, supposedly it's going further north if they have the money. Never been on it though.
you're going to be cold as hell los numeros
Basically this is like my PS3 thread, I've already made the decision that I want to go but I want to hear lots of good things to comfort my decision.
My #1 hope is that I can apply to Microsoft, tell them I'm graduating in June, they'll like that I'm fresh out of college, determined, etc etc and offer me a job + relocation
Otherwise, there are like 40 other huge technology companies in the Seattle area
It's kind of like a pipe dream but it's looking more and more like reality so anything anyone can offer (good AND bad) would be great
I dont know how comfortable I feel about taking an electromagnetic based transit system through an electromagnetic pulse
What about my sig
sucks
Microsoft is based out of Redmond. That's like a 2 hour bus ride, lol. I'm sure they have little "outposts" that are in Seattle or Bellevue though.
and lol, Moots. They have a much bigger one now. It goes in the bus tunnels and further south it has it's own bridge/rail thing. The old monorail is still there though.
Microsoft has their own bus line and shuttle service to their campus if you work there, Redmond/Bellevue/Kirkland are nice places to live but can get expensive. I know Microsoft just bought or leased or whatever 2 of the big buildings in Bellevue, so they have big offices there as well. Google also just opened up a new thing in Kirkland recently.
And lollightrail. I doubt they will expand it soon since the City Center to Seatac project went millions overbudget, took longer than expected, and didn't even get finished like they had hoped (stations were supposed to be better etc).
