you have to remember that there is an infinite amount of values, the majority of which are past 20. Also, expected value is calculated by multiplying probability * the value. So yeah the odds of there being 100 trys is .95^100 has a .005 probability. But, you add .5 to the expected value because of the chance of it taking 100 tries.
