I was really unlucky with death :/ Always happened to me lol. The Merciless Blade took ya down to like 5% Health or something, never managed to wipe me, even when everyone was at 5k HP or so~

The ones without Tusks drop Gold Dust as a common time, not sure the rare. They are the same as the force fight in Eden~ very weak/dont think Death works on em.

The ones with Tusks drop Plat ingot as common, Trap as Rare (1/10ish)~

Wasn't that bad. That move can't kill you, no matter what.

I may try beating first form Orphan again without using Poison. I feel like I cheated :'(

It can indeed kill you if you don't heal your HP back up, happened to me when I did final boss again to 5 star the last one since I didn't know it was a zerg fight and missed out on 5 stars first time.

It can? That's odd. I remember him doing it with my Light's HP being around 1.8k~2k, and it just lowered her HP to critical.

Ok this is going back to page 1 but I'm getting real pissed by something. I'm trying to grind on the behemoth and giant wolf fighting but everytime I stagger it and try to double commando it with fang light and hope as rav fang just attacks the wolf and I can't kill the behe in time. Any advice?

Don't double commander? have Fang be leader and use Triangle/Y to force when she needs to go to keep it launched.

yeah with COM/COM/RAV the second commando will always target a different mob than the party leader unless there's only 1 mob left. RAV/RAV/COM is more effective for the behemoth.

I'm thinking now... I have a save back in chapter 13 that I kept just incase there was nothing good to CP farm in Pulse, do you think I should go back and just max out all my extra jobs before moving on with Cystarium level 10? I have a file a little ways into my hunts, but nothing serious.

If you're talking about the Behe fight, Quick Stagger makes it a total joke. Otherwise, play Fang, and have Light and Hope/Vanille on your team. Go COM/RAV/RAV, let Light attack first, get a couple of hits in then order Fang to attack, her attack will be timed so there's a couple of hits left when the thing staggers and Fang launches it into the air. Then you can proceed to rape it.

If you auto attack to quickly, Fang doesn't really get a chance to Launch before Behe transforms (possibly because the combined damage is high enough). Basically, don't mash auto-attack, time it and give Light a second to attack (btw, Aurora Scarf/First Strike on Light helps).

There's still decent places to farm CP even after you beat the game, I'd get Growth egg before doing it though. I haven't grinded shit since I got it, just been doing missions a few encounters and have got 1.2mil CP so far with Growth Egg equipped.

There's like 3-4 groups of penguins on the map(maybe more) that respawn super fast just by running to other groups killing them off, they net around 8k CP with egg and can be killed in 8-15 sec flat(shouldn't take you no longer than 20sec), but I'll have to double check on how much CP.

I go in COM/COM/RAV for blitz spam from double COM. I can also still do the Behe for 13.2k CP in 15 sec~, but the penguins all sit there in one area and don't have to walk very far to respawn them. Should be able to get up to 800k an hour doing this.

Edit: There's other decent areas you can do to, but I just seem to favor the penguins for when I need to grind CP, but I've been gaining alot just from missions and a few encounters on the way to them with Growth Egg. I'll switch up spots from time to time to see which is best.

Is that the penguin area for mission...8, I think? With the Undying Cei'th (the large golem type one) near the cliff? I remember it being really foggy and filled with Cie'th before you beat it, then afterwards it clears up and all the penguins arive.

I just got to Gran Pulse and I haven't upgraded anything yet. Am I way behind the curve and what should I upgrade?

Probably not, at most you might have some level 2 weapons, but none of them maxed. You'll probably have a level 1 weapon, maybe maxed out, maybe not. In anycase, I recommend getting up to mission 7, farming that until you have enough materials/money to fully upgrade a level 2 weapon (if you want) then going to Behe to farm CP if you want.

I'm almost positive Com Rav Rav will end up doing more damage over the course of an entire stagger than Com Com Rav, regardless. Depending on what % the mob staggers of course, but with 2 coms you'll be lucky to hit 500/600/700% by the end whereas Com/Rav/Rav will have like a quarter of the bar just to go at it with 999%.

At least thats what I find, anyway.
