Any suggestions on how far along I should be before I go to Chapter 12?
Am I missing something concerning Crown farming for Swift Shoes? I'm fighting the 7 mark over and over again and I've killed him probably 30 times now and all I'm getting are bomb cores. I'm using both normal and rare item book drops and I have yet to see shit. Five staring every fight too.
What am I doing wrong, I thought this was a fairly common drop?![]()
I think its a Rare drop. I got one out of about 30 tries i think, luckily i already had a Tiara and Crown in my Inventory so i only needed to farm that one.
For the Wolf/Behe farming spot, I just use Light/Sazh/Vanille as Com/Syn/Sab, and auto attack on the behemoth. With the debuffs/buffs and the enspell on Light's weapon, you pretty much can AFK and kill them once every 50 seconds or so.
Once you get stronger, you can just do COM/COM/RAV and kill them in 10secs or less (max is 13). Quick Stagger on Lionheart/Ultima Weapon makes the fight a joke. Get some Auto-Haste and/or Bravery/Faith and watch the fight fly by.
Where does one get a growth egg?
Mission 55, the neochu. He's a bitch+1, the HQ kind.

Ah ok, yeah Im still in the 30's, Ill get to it after basketball today. I only did a few in GP when I was there the first time. Just beat the game a few hours ago, trying to decide how to progress, lol.
Yeah, I did the Titan missions (start at 35) and that took a good little bit of time.
Growth Egg was the first thing I went for after beating the game, lol. Fuck that damn Neochu and it's annoying ass babies.
Turtles still kill me and most of my characters got one stage 10 crystal done almost two. I have gotten one turtle to 50% using shrouds and smn's but I'm wondering two things about these turtles. My summon knocked the turtle to the ground. I don't think he took out a leg by himself so I'm wondering if I only need to get the leg to a certain %? My second question is what is the ideal setup for these?
Well, this has been answered a few times in this forum. There's a few ways you can kill the turtles:
1) death method(need vanille to have the spell death on her sab)
2) high level fang with summon(need highwind and high atk)
3) high level fang w/o summon(same thing here plus it's easier if the other 2 chars are com/rav/syn/med and rav/syn/sab/med) There's a detailed strat on this in gamefaqs

From your level, I don't think it's possible to kill adamantortoise/adamantoise without using the death method. Whenever you summon, it automatically kills the two legs and drops the turtle. which is why it's possible to spam death with vanille for about 2 minutes. You actually have to kill both legs to make it drop without summoning. Sorry if my thoughts are all over the place, can't fall asleep.
Either do what the below poster said with Death Trick or have about 2400+ STR on Fang, use her Summon and while its down put Deprotect/Deshell/Imperil. Once you get your party back use RAV/RAV/RAV for Stagger then COM/COM/RAV. Should kill it easily.
I've been at GP for a little bit now, all my guys are role lv3 I think in their 3 classes (working on the lv4 tier) and I've done missions 1-9. What the fuck is the trick to king behemoths? I have killed 1 and it was easily a half hour+ fight, every other one has beat my face in. Every hit does half or more damage to anyone he hits, sunder oneshots anyone not sentinel, and I can't stagger him before he stands (like 1/3 damage done). I'm pretty sure the time I beat him was sen/med/com and the com did at least half the damage solo...
Try upgrading your weapons and leveling your crystarium.
There's no "trick", aside from keeping them launched from about 60% onwards because otherwise they stand up and full heal. But if you're getting oneshotted by Sunder you probably don't have the DPS to do that.
After reading this thread I thought I'd throw in my CP grinding routine. I know someone mentioned earlier the behemoth king/giant wolf near the "destination marker" but by them is a behemoth king by itself(at least there is for me) and it's a bit easier then the wolf/behe king.
What I did was wait until I could sneak up behind it for a preemptive strike and if for whatever reason I didn't get it I just hit retry. This will net you 4000 CP per fight and it will only last around 50 seconds at first. At the moment I'm at about 25-30 seconds per fight. I timed it and found I could make about 32,000 CP in 10-15 minutes doing this.
To make the behemoth respawn just run away from the kill spot(marked as a "X" on ur map) until you can't see it anymore then return. My party was the following...
Light COM
Fang COM
Hope RAV
or
Light COM
Sazh SYN/COM
Hope RAV
With the second setup I would have Sazh the leader and cast haste on everyone first in the SYN/COM/RAV setup then switch to COM/COM/RAV. By the time haste is up, Light/Hope should have the behemoth staggered/launched.
Anways, I hope it helps and if this was mentioned already my bad XD
So you're saying it's better to get 4k for a 25-30 second fight instead of 6600 for a 10-12 second fight?
