Looks like a complete clone of Band of Brothers. Different scenery, exchange Episode 9: Why We Fight for Episode 9: The Bomb, thats it. It looks awesome, because Band of Brothers, and I'm certainly interested in seeing it, but it just looks like its going to be TOO similar.

It's supposed to be the Pacific corollary to BoB's European theater.

I like seeing stuff about the Pacific theater because there's always so much stuff on the European due to Hitler. Though most stuff on the Pacific theater kinda sucks...

from what i've read, the island battles were mostly drawn-out stalemates with the real back and forth on the sea

This will be amazing... Band of Brothers was so great and there wasn't enough of it...definitely need it out to watch again! Kudos to Tom Hanks for this!

Yeah but watching an hours worth of missed shots until one side manages to land a hit is probably not as interesting as infantry fights.

Really good 1st episode, really looking forward to the next, I can already tell that it's going to be as good as Band of Brothers!

Enjoyed the episode last night. One thing that is bothering me though, is how dark the night scenes are (which are usually the fighting scenes). It might just be AT&T, or it might be my TV, but did anyone else have trouble seeing what was going on in these scenes?

Yeah, it really is dark in almost all of those scenes. The only times you can really see much is muzzle flash from the machine guns.

I understand that, it's not even that big of a deal. I just never had any problems with the night scenes in BoB, which is why I asked if it was something on my end.

BoB was like that for me. In the night scenes, I could basically see outlines of the people. I'm planning to just watch this when the series is done, so I don't know how it compares though.

Saw the episode last Sunday and thought it was ok. BoB's first episode was pretty dull as well so its kind of hard to tell which way this series is heading.
