    Speakers + Headset: Impossible?

I have a problem. The best way I can describe it is in this horrible diagram that I concocted:

    My motherboard:

Ok, the problem is that no matter what I do, I can't seem to get the front audio ports to work/recognize any devices. I also cannot get the blue port on motherboard to work. I'm trying to get it to where both my external speakers will work alongside my headset, but it seems to be impossible :< In my case I have wires from the audio ports, and it stems off into 2 connections. One of them is labled "HDA" and one is labeled "AC-97" (I think it's 97 :<). I've tried connecting each of them to the circled red connection labeled "F_AUDIO" on my motherboard but it didn't work either way. Should I be connecting it elsewhere on the board?

Also, using Windows 7 if it matters, but before I was using Vista and had the same problems. Would be really awesome if someone could solve this :< Really tired of having vent/skype coming through my headset along with every other sound on my PC. Also, there are 2 USB ports on the front of the case, also with connections to the board and they work just fine ;\ My goal is to be able to configure my PC so that anything not skype/vent comes through speakers, and skype/vent come through headset.

Using two different cases I could never get the front audio ports on my computer to work. (Abit IP35 Pro).

I just used a USB headset for vent and stuff though. I'd plug it in, start vent and only vent would come through the headset. Everything else stayed on the speakers.

if you have your manual for your motherboard still you should be able to find a diagram for front panel connectors (power switch, leds, etc). Your speakers may need to be plugged along side of them such as in this diagram:

Save yourself a headache, pick up a USB audio dongle and set everything besides vent through your speakers, vent through the USB adapter. Like this: http://www.amazon.com/Syba-SD-CM-UAU...8764235&sr=8-2
