I'm looking forward to the Oregon @ Tennessee football game this September. It'll be a battle to see which team was better able to cover up its' players recent legal transgressions, and keep them on the team. (Current advantage: Tennessee).

In defense of Oregon, they seem to be punishing their "felony of the month" better than most schools do. It just shows they recruit people with questionable character.

I agree, actually. The vast majority of public input seemed to be on the side of getting rid of the whole lot of them, even from die hard Duck fans. Once the details of James' case came out, the punishment seemed to fit the crime, particularly when they suspended Masoli for the entire season. If they were going to throw one under the bus to save the other, it would've been James under the bus, rather than the Heisman candidate QB.

Bob Huggins came to K-State to be the basketball program's savior. We'd never had a winning conference record or been to the ncaa tourney since the forming of the Big 12.

He came in and recruited like all the best players out there right away, signed Bill Walker (who graduated early and played his first season coaching), O.J. Mayo and Michael Beasley
who weren't actually coming til his 2nd year. Keep in mind, Walker was actually the best of those 3 prior to fucking up his knee at K-State.

He then recruited Pullen and Sutton.

So his 2007 incoming class included Pullen, some other guard, OJ Mayo, Sutton, and Michael Beasley. Easily the best recruiting class anywhere since the "fab five," and quite likely better than that. Not to mention what should have been an even better player than any of them who graduated and came to play a semester early, but got hurt.

And then West Virginia offered him the job and he bailed out on all of it...

USC paid for Mayo, not sure where the other guy went, and Frank Martin was promoted to head coach *ONLY* because Beasley said it was the only way he would stay.

So, basically, it would be K-State, who now absolutely hates Huggie, coached by one of his understudies, using his recruiting classes albeit highlighted with Martin's own recruits, to beat him in the national championship at the school he ditched us for.

Fuck yeah, lol.

I wasn't sure if you'd know all that or not heh, picking K-State to beat KU in a meaningful game is pretty much blasphemous, but since you had Georgetown I couldn't be sure.

Cornell is shooting like 70% in this game, its fucking insane. Their center is also getting away with taking more steps than Patrick Ewing. I counted 4 steps on his last basket.

Temple is shooting 60% themselves and are down by 15, how often does that happen

I figured Temple was as good as advertised even though I knew Cornell was good too. Hell, I didn't think Cornell was really a 12 seed.. I thought they'd be a 9-11 at least. Oh well. 2/3 if things hold out... better than my start yesterday.
