Big 10 teams in Sweet 16: 3.

Big East teams in: 8(Syracuse, Georgetown, Villanova, West Virginia, Notre Dame, Louisville, Marquette, Pittsburgh)
Big East teams in Sweet 16: 2.

At the beginning of the week, if you'd said only one #4 seed would be standing at the end of the weekend, how many people would have picked Purdue? Not I, that's for sure.

Don't get me wrong, I hate UNC and love Coach K as much as any Duke fan does. But compared to what teams like Purdue, Cornell, MSU, Ohio State, UNI, Kansas State, etc have had to play through...Duke's been given 2 get out of jail free cards and 400 bucks for passing go twice.

In Arvin's defense, just about any team matches up better with Northern Iowa than with Kansas. And without their best player, the Spartans need every break they can get to keep advancing. If they had Kansas ahead of them, I'd give them about zero chance of advancing to the Elite 8. With Northern Iowa, they've got a chance of winning.

Could've kept walking and finished at 5:30ish, but yeah fuck that. (Although if I did do that I still would've beat half the marathoners who finished...)

I was over 30 mins past my 20 mile time (3:35) from 3 weeks ago, so yeah. Stopping training because I was getting shin splints 2 weeks before the marathon turned out to be a ...bad decision? Or not? I don't know. I guess I'm not skilled enough at avoiding injury.

I proved my main thesis wholeheartedly - running is terrible and results are pretty fucking arbitrary.
