I start watching after the superbowl. I've probably watched a total of 2 hours of NBA basketball thus far. MLB...LOL. I'll have watched more curling that MLB (regular season or playoffs) by years end. I couldn't tell you the divisions in hockey. Hell, I don't think I could name 10 teams. Actually, I'll try.

    Buffalo Sabers
    Chicago Blackhawks
    Washington Capital
    Pittsburgh Penguins
    Detroit Redwings
    Tampa Lighting
    New York Islanders
    Los Angeles Kings
    St. Louis Blues

    That's all I got.

Most people dont take it to serious, but it was fun with the comedy between a few people.

Cowherd --- "Butler is the midwest version of Gonzaga"

Gonzaga is the west coast version of Butler.

The last 9 years (as far back as ESPN's schedules go):
    Gonzaga: 2 sweet 16s
    Butler: 3 sweet 16s + final 4

Plus, Butler has far more good teams to recruit against in their proximity. I will admit that they do have a major geographic advantage in a lot more great players being within a few hours of Indianapolis than Spokane.

This is true, but they also have a lot fewer schools they are competing with in the same region -- within a days' drive of Butler, you've got dozens of quality schools. Within a days' drive of Gonzaga, you have the University of Washington, WSU, and that's about it. I guess you could consider Oregon and Oregon State within the same region, but really only the UW has been consistently good since Gonzaga has reached national awareness. Also, I'm not sure what Butler's recruiting standards are, but Gonzaga has some pretty strict academic standards.

I woke up this morning, put on my "Fear the Spartan" shirt, cranked me some "The Black Mages" and rocked out knowing today is a good day to be a spartan fan.

Feels good man. Salute that Tennessee.

Edit: Also, in before loloregon. No amount of money will pull Izzo from East Lansing. If he didn't opt for the NBA last year out of all years, he isn't going anywhere ever.

it is laughable to even think izzo would consider leaving, especially for oregon. like somebody on rcmb said.. not even a blockbuster deal from the pistons would get izzo to think about it.

Is it just me, or are the Sparty fans getting as annoying as Dallas fans?

Yes, they are annoying. But I'll let it slide for now because they beat Tennessee who I really can't stand.

Hey man, give Sparty some credit. They beat NMSU, Maryland, Northern Iowa and Tennessee by a combined 13 points.

The fact that Bruce Pearl's son was playing ANY minutes for Tennessee tells you all you need to know about how good they are.

Hey man, after the route Sparty had last year I would take whatever I could get. And it's not their fault that Kansas, Cuse and OSU lost.

Sorry for the homer vibes guys, I'll tone it down a little. I'll be annoying if we win it all though, so expect that.

I guess I should tone it down a bit too. Don't want to get too high in the clouds...but I honestly didnt think we would sniff the Elite 8 let alone a repeat Final 4 with the team that existed 2-3 weeks ago.

This is a different team now, and Im excited about it is all. It's one of those years where outside of our injuries, like in college football, the preseason #1 doesn't often run the table to get to the BCS title. Everythings just fallen into place so quickly right before our eyes and outside of being exciting to watch all the mayhem, MSU has escaped it to Indy. Good times.

Edit: Also, part of my enthusiasm is carrying over to here because one of my better friends is a Tennessee alumni and ive been saluting him like mad the past 2 days. He doesnt like it much.

Hehe. I agree that as a MSU fan, we are very fortunate the way thier bracket played out. The kentucky thing was more or less a joke because they lost. One thing is for sure though, if they get to the finals and they have to play Duke, I'm afraid that it will be a bloodbath. Duke always seems to have MSU's number.
