vanille is a better SAB because vanille gets Death
vanille is a better SAB because vanille gets Death
Ok so I think I'm done farming the behemoth at the exit from archylte, time to move forward in chapter 11.
A few people mentioned running Sazh for haste until hope gets it - I've been doing that and have since been wrecking shit. Starting even random battles as Com/Sab/Syn with light/van/sazh... the behemoth fight was taking me 30-40seconds each time with light hitting for up to 97k.
A loooooot of people seem to be running light/fang/hope even before hope gets haste. Should I consider doing this? Do you then main Fang, running her as com? Sentinel when shit goes bad? Nothing has gone bad for me since getting haste and running my current setup, every fight has been pretty much solo'd by light in a few seconds. I farmed enough CP to basically have everyone at their 4th role level on every role before leaving, with hope missing a few rav things still.
Should I just leave the group like it is or switch it up? Fang's STR is finally passing Lightnings, not sure how it will work out come boss fights and harder random fights though.
Haste beats everything. Unless you're using the shroud item that gives Haste I wouldn't recommend dropping Sazh. Shroud items last 5 minutes which should be enough for most everything.
Sazh is great until Hope gets Haste, then you can consider switching them back and forth. Hope does ridiculous magic damage, but takes a hit like wet paper. Sazh's damage kinda sucks, but he can survive with the best of them. All of Hope's roles are useful, he can heal for a lot of HP, but with Sazh I doubt you'll ever use COM seriously. Still, I think Sazh can up the chain a lot better with one of his weapons.
Extended Stagger weapon is pretty nice too. Does Hope get a weapon to increase buff duration like Sazh does too?
Some people may not know this but use summons whenever. You can recover tp fast and when you use summons you recover all your health and your dead allies come back to life once your summon leaves.
The reason I dropped Sazh for Vanille is because I equipped sprint shoes on both Light & Fang and was able to finish most fights before that haste wore anyway (I'd say Sazh hits like a girl, but the girls here all hit like freight trains) and would pop in Hope on bosses due to a wider array of buffs and being that Sazh cant heal. Either way though, haste is king of buffs.
On reflection, probably would have been better to use Sazh vs Hope on the tough fights and made Light medic, but whatever. Unless you are getting your ass handed to you, you are probably doing fine. Lots of different 'right' ways to go that all work fine though main storyline Ive seen.
My Sazh has Cure and Esuna now, I'm at the tower in chapter 11. No Cura sucks but it's good enough so far, much better than dropping Lightning's insane damage dealing capabilities for Medic at least.
Yeah, but I think Hope's only works for defensive buffs while Sazh is for offensive buffs. Both are good, but buffs tend to last so long anyway I don't see the point. Sazh had extended buffs + the 30% buff duration combo and the only time a buff wore off was when it was cancelled out.
I'm currently at the entrance to Taejin's tower and totally didnt farm any CP at the Behe/Wolf duo, I did the first 2 Hunts then just simply left the area thinking i was way outta my league as yet.
I'm thinking i should go back there now.. can i or do i need to wait it out?
There's some rough fights in there but it's doable. Triple Vampire at the top floor will hand you your ass, but avoidable.
Sorry i meant can i go back to the The Steppe?
This game is mostly about strategy and approach to fights, rather than strength. I tend to grind quite a bit (had maxed level 8 for ages, and had upwards of 500000 CP for my chars at that point), and that 3x Vampire fight still owned me until I figured out a good fight.
Pretty sure you can go back anyway, just had to manually backtrack or use the Cie'th teleport stone.
It took quite a few attempts, but I ended up pre-empting, blowing them up with 3x RAV for a bit, summoning Alexander and using finisher for 120k damage. Just wish there was a better way to power up summons, the system it uses is dumb. Odin has a third of the strength that Lightning does and I can't do shit about it until later in the game when they start to get insane boosts.
at chpt 12. currently have fang - upgraded her balanced weapon to 2nd stage and capped at level 61, snow has fey(something) again 2nd stage capped level, and hope hawkeye 2nd stage capped level. Anyone recommend how to up the item to up grade? is it just vanille trick on the big adamantoise?
Tip- i let sazh get 999,999 CP it doesn't go any higher so not to everyone use up CP unless you want to let it go to waste, is the a level 5 role for each job?
Anyone have a map of the turtle spawns..?
Chapter 12 outside the temple is an Adamantoise
Chapter 11 near the save point near Titan, is 1 Adamantortoise
in that ravine is 3 Adamanchelid (weak ones)
on the other side to the turtle spawn is an Adamantoise with 3 gorgonspid dogs
Then I think 3 more Adamantoises are walking around the zone...
My problem is I still have issues with Adamantoises, but i can farm Adamantortoises easily, but theres onyl 1 spawn which I have tried running really far away and coming back and it didnt respawn. Maybe its a timed respawn?
I havnt rally read much of these threads because i'm trying to stay away from spoilers, but it's correct that after you beat the boss of the game you can still play on to complete all the other stuff?
Spoiler: show
