Perfect Dark was better in every way.

Dunno bout you but i had the most fun with it simply cause when there was no one else to play with i could always kill bots =0

    PD didn't have Oddjob though.

I dunno, goldeneye had a bit more grimey feel to it. You couldn't help but getting more of a sci-fi feeling while playing PD than goldeneye. Besides, nostalgia value means a lot

As for the bots? If I don't have some friends around I can't be bothered with such a shitty old game

    PD also lacked this-

Did PD have the dual-wield trick btw where you can arm yourself with both your current weapon, the one following it in the rotation cycle?

Oh man power weapons is as fun as I remember it, everyone scrambles to take out the dude with the rcp90

I'm kind of upset that the rcp90 actually looks like an fnp90 now, I miss the old goldeneye version that looked like it was made of white and orange modeling clay by a ten year old

Fuck yes. <3 you sweet sweet Oddjob. I also like using Russian Commandant and good old Defense Minister Mischkin (Epic Beard).

Oddjob was nice b/c you could hide inside the crates and sneak attack people.

I loved paintball mode, and the floating mines trick in Severnaya Bunker.

Yeah, let's just ignore that every other standard-height player gets easy headshots on him when aiming straight ahead. >.>

Ah, Goldeneye64, the game of paying more attention to your opponent's portion of the screen than you own.

Small price to pay for playing as the greatness that is Oddjob.

I think it was because way more people had Goldeneye for some reason. Like thinking back I can't think of anyone who had PD, but every person with an N64 that I knew had Diddy Kong Racing and Goldeneye at the minimum.

Now I want goddamn Pokemon Snap on XBLA.

Also even though I think perfect dark is superior, goldeneye was kind of more memorable if you played both. It had that awesome bond motif in every song on the soundtrack. That's the one thing I really miss about goldeneye compared to pd- the death theme in multiplayer was far too awesome

I always loved getting the AC-15 (I think) award because no one knew what it was for.

So have to download this later. I can remember nearly 10 years ago inviting 3 friends over and staying up all night playing Multiplayer. There were endless possibilities to scenarios you could do. The bots were so customizable with different difficulties, AI type... ahhh the memories.

Now they just need to make TimeSplitters for PS3 or 360 with online multiplayer and I will have my favorite 2 shooters ever again! To bad the company that made Timesplitters got bought out and TimeSplitters 4 is officially on hold for the time being...

Yeah if they could bring the original timesplitters to XBLA I'd never leave my little retro console FPS gaming corner again.

People online seriously do not know how to shot remote mines, either they don't know about or forgot about the A+B detonate trick but I'm cleaning up because of it

This. The whole Bond feel far surpassed anything they tried to set up in Perfect Dark. While PD is technically superior to its predecessor in every way, that Bond vibe (of one of the few Bond movies I actually really enjoyed) was half of the game's fun.

Picked this up over the weekend. Overall it isnt that bad. Theres a nice nostalgia kick when you play it. Of course, aside from the graphic cleanup, the age on this game is definitely showing. Plus am I the only one that some random red aura appear around npcs in cutscenes for a second or two at a time?

I'm having problems with some achievements -- Tools of the Trade (all bronze in Firing Range) isn't working for me, despite having all bronze/silver and all but 7 gold. Also there's a Skedar theme for the Dashboard that is supposed to be unlocked when you have a kill with all weapons. Besides the 32 on the firing range, what else is there? I can only think of N-Grenades which I've already done, and have yet to get the achievement. Pretty sure I've gotten a kill with every other weapon.

Also is anyone paying attention to the leaderboards? I used the old strategy in Carrington Agent, got 1:21 or something, and ranked 89th in time. I remember the world record being sub-1:00, I guess the hardcore speed run people haven't really been working too hard just yet.

Incidentally all of the glitches are still available I think. The #1 record on the first level is 00:05.93 I think.

Game plays well. Beat everything so far, have two top 300 scores in the duel on special and perfect agent. Only beef now is that I have to run through everything again, and that some of the achievements arent unlocking.

I unlocked the Skedar theme by going into Combat Sim with three meatsims and killing them with every weapon using every possible weapon, on both modes for each weapon. Took me under half an hour. You get a message when you've unlocked it. If you're trying to get it, note that whenever you score a kill with a new gun, the word "Saving..." appears in the bottom left of the screen.
