X's/Blau or X's/Trial?
Whats better?
for nin:
Senj/Perdu
or
Senj/OAT trial (non-DMG+ augmented)
for RDM:
Joy/Antea(non-dmg+ augmented)
or
Soulsaber(Thinking STR/ATK or DEX/ACC)/Joy
Oh wise and all knowing BG gods of Knowledge and stale popcorn necklaces made with yarn:
Quetions about Cor and Ranged WS's if not your thang i spoiler for jeu:
Spoiler: show
Missing Hasso which you are likely to have in majority of merit level situations but yes it would be unlikely for a non-elv to reach over 150str. I am still missing Stirgoi Ring and Bobcat Belt which raise my str up another 4 points, and I also WS in B tath.
As hume with 75 base I get +71 after hasso/food using gorget, would it be worth switching to Justice torque on merit level mobs to get the benefit of that last fSTR or not worth giving up?
What would the actual % increase in WS damage be from the additional 5 base damage?
For Elvaan BLM w/ no INT merits..is it better to stack more INT or more Macc/Skill on high resist targets? I know this is mostly situational, but I need a general basis to do my testing with once I'm 75.
The Amanos I know who used Torque said they were doing it for the attack, which is hard to quantify. With 75+71 STR, you'd be at or near capped fSTR on most merit level monsters I think. It's really a little hard to say because VIT numbers haven't been nailed down for much of anything relevant, at least as far as I know. Also, keep in mind that dSTR/4 is just an approximation for fSTR that doesn't necessarily reflect the actual equation tiers.
75+71 = 146
146*.83*.6 = 72
72+17+88 = 177
The last 5 base damage will bump up your damage 2.8% if you don't get another fSTR point out of it, and 3.3% if you do.
+.1 pDIF on a 3 pDIF base gives a 3.3% bonus. If the +5 STR from J-torque gives you 1 fSTR and 3 from 60%STR mod (4 base damage boost), then it works out to a 2.2% increase over a 182 damage base (the set above but not getting the last fSTR with the base damage upgrade.) Then you also gain 10-11 Attack.
Well if you had unlimited gear choices I would go with the following on COR:
For Birds:
Main hand: joy
Sub hand: kris ( i guess if you really want too go /nin but I really don't see why you just main hand joy by itself and go with /rng for the increased acc from job traits but its up to you. I know just make the brd/nin pull so you can go /rng but whatever you prefer.)
Range: Martial Gun
Ammo: Steel Bullets
Head: Zha'Go's Barbut
Neck: Faith Torque
Ear1: Brutal Earring
Ear2: ACP7 Earring with 2 STR +5 RNG ATK ideal or Fenrirs earring for either atK+10 or RNg atk+10 either one active will benefit you
Body: Mirke with whatever I suggest snapshot and whatever else you feel you need I don't care if you want rng atk rng acc or haste
Hand: Skadi's Bazubands
Ring 1: Jalzahn's Ring
Ring 2: Rajas
Back: Amemet Mantle +1
Waist: Commodore Belt
Legs: Skadi's Chausses
feet: Corsair's Bottes +1
You can get Detonator if you want but I dont realy see how the extra .5 dmg modifer for the TP bonus is greater than the increase rng acc the tp bonus will give Slugshot. I would get Leaden Salute over Detonator. Since you have Ranger I would get Detonator over Trueflight.
If your missing alot just put on some rng acc items in the ears or rings slots first.
The gear was picked for combination of rng atk + rng acc + str + agi + sTP + haste. I think some people may not want you to use a brutal earring and as far as feet go I am sure there might be something better but I don't know COR feet options all that well.
I could give you cheaper choices if you wanted and your earrings and gear might change depending or how much hate your were generating at HNMs and such I just don't feel like typing out - enmity builds, rng acc builds, and ws builds for cor but if you wanted you could PM on ffxiah Carbuncle- Laitha for specfic questions. I know markmanship and Ranger pretty well but I not good authority on Cor specfic things like quick draw builds but I can get you in touch with the people that are the guru's on that information.
The scale isn't quite the same, though.
Perdu/Moliones vs Death/Tred is 5% delay (+relevant stats) vs 0-4 BD (+relevant stats), Ultimatum vs Severance is ~3% delay 15 Attack vs 6-7 BD.
Napkin maths points to the increase in WS damage from BD outdoing the increase in WS frequency/DoT from delay, in this specific case.
I'm as much a proponent of "using the lower delay weapon you can X-hit build (6-hit in this case) for" as anyone, but it's not always the best regardless of other stats.
And yes, Vengeance is much better than both.
Byrthnoth : you mean fTP, not pDIF.
Ok >.> for Tachi: Gekko, Haubergeon+1 or Hachiman Domaru? I can't get a solid answer from anyone so far.
Domaru, if those are your only choices, more STR for 60% STR mod. Haub+1 would be better for say Rana
well most people use Kirins Osode for the big 3. so in that theory id still go with Domaru, i WS in my Usukane Haramaki and thats pretty much exactly same stats so >.>
Your atk is usually capped for merit mobs, however for HNMs, it mostly isn't. If I'm not mistaken, Gekko gives you 2.0x your atk with Yuki being 1.7x and Kasha being 1.5x. If I'm wrong, I apologize.
Basically, if your atk isn't just slighly higher than your mob's def, I would recommend more atk+ options in your gear/food.
