Don't forget that sword strap also lets you WS more often! In the case of my SAM it was shown to be such a marginal increase like .x% that I just keep my pole strap. Having a different grip depending on if I get SAM roll for a marginal increase just isn't worth it to me. I'm just a lazy player~
My real reason for posting is just to point out that there's currently no way to tell where and if flooring occurs in attack delay. (Since we can only base it on the animations, and they are not accurate to the degree that would tell us this.)
New Delay = Base Delay * (1-Haste%) * (1-Delay Reduction%)
New Delay = Base Delay * (1-Delay Reduction) * (1-Haste%)
Associative property for Multiplication stands, and it'll be the same regardless of which occurs first. (This is true for dual wield too!) The only way we would have an answer is if someone had access to the algorithms on SE's servers. (Or if someone was able to decipher some of the incoming packets since mob/player animation is based on delay%.)
Sword Strap is a 3.09% increase to total DPS, akin to adding 3% Haste if you had 0 Haste but the two stats are calculated seperately (see Kirschy's post). Sword v Pole favors Sword Strap when there are no other factors in play (moreso for WAR than SAM or DRK since your base DA is higher and it's a wash for DRG) and may (think so, but I'm a lazy bum) still be better even after losing Bomb Core, though if you needed the accuracy from Fire Bomblet I'd expect the situation to reverse itself.
Pretty sure the function was shown to be piecewise for dDEX=1~40, or something along the lines of
1~10: crit+1%
11~20: crit+2%
etc, and +1% for every point of DEX in the dDEX=41~50 range. It may be worthwhile if your critrate is low and you know you'll break into the next tier, but since I don't believe we have AGI value for the relevant targets you won't know for sure one way or the other.
Colibri with that gear: Torque
Other mobs with that gear: Torque if equal or roughly 4AGI less than Colibri (To avoid capping). Otherwise, gorget is the safer choice.
Only other thing I bring DRG to aside from Colibri is Mamools, so yea. Don't get much else use out of it for now. Hopefully that changes with this new poking stick.
Once I'm done saving for the Byne stage to be done I'll more than likely look into a Cuch, but that'll only give me +3 DEX over what I've got now. As well yes, Elvaan with no DEX merits. Did 5/5 STR. And thanks for the advice.
Yea not even gonna bother with that lol.
How about Dynamis mobs? Do we even know about their stats really?
StudioGobli is weird because it lists LV83 BST as 119 DEX needed, but has LV81 as needing 123DEX. If it's 119DEX, it might be workable with Pixie Earring; otherwise, as mentioned, don't bother with a critical hit build.
How many samples would you need for that? I'm pretty sure testing out static numbers of dex vs entire dynamis runs wouldnt be too hard to do with many people.
The last critical hit test showed fluctuations from 12,000 hits until the final 15,000 hits sample. That should give you a rough idea. Pragmatic problems include:
- The limited number of mobs in each Dynamis zone
- Time limit constraints
- It's an event people strive to win quickly
- Interest is lacking because of the potential gear from Dynamisv2
The best way to do this might be to have a Dynamis crew + Testing PT. The testing PT should have a WHM with a Kraken club; maximum haste options; STR reducing gear to limit TP given; sub NIN (To avoid giving TP); and a general crew to keep the mob controlled while testing ensues. This would have to be done for each mob though (Alternatively, you could test THF types only to find a maximum value).
Probably 80+ agi/vit for anything that is not rdm whm. All of those mobs are 75+. This means dex build won't work untill 130 dex. Surprise ? Nope, dex builds don't work. Going from 9% crit (=floored, with max merit) to 24% (capped) is only ~9% increase in damage with a pdif of 1.5 (dia3 and chaos typically give that). That's pretty shit, 36 attacks will be better.
edit : I don't remember dynamis parses but those mobs seem a bit stronger than salvage ones, and in salvage you are still floored at 86 dex (full usu) so 80 agi seems about right.
For bahamut v2
Polearm vs gkatana while /war getting SV songs.
How much acc should i aim for? I can get quite a bit more acc on penta since i've been dropping it everywhere for colibri during merits.
Bahamut starts in about 30~40 minutes.
(total. i can calculate how much im at with 2 sv madrigals)
NVM . i forgot about feint. im good no matter what probably.
with feint and some kind of madrigal SV or not you should be able to cap acc with a more or less completely acc free set
Have 110 DEX in my Raging Rush set atm. Would Kubira Beads be better than Sea Gorget or no?
I doubt kubira will ever win unless you have very low pdif (sushi, no COR, no dia 2 or 3, no minuet).. The best case for kubira would be if
(1) you are at +46 DEX before neck (20% crit before neck)
(2) you don't sacrifice any STR in other slots for dex
assume 150 STR, 1.5 pdif, 22% DA, and that RR has 10% base crit.
with gorget your crit is then 30% and your damage is
3.32*(0.70*1.5+0.30*2.5)*0.95*(96+18+0.83*0.35*150 )=894.58
with kubira
3.22*(0.66*1.5+0.34*2.5)*0.95*(96+18+0.83*0.35*154 )=893.46
In all realitsic situation, getting 46 dex means you are sacrificing STR somewhere, so it never wins.
