I don't think you're going to get an answer to your "worth it" question. Even if you did it would be subjective. I've weighed the pros and cons for scythes myself and I will simply tough it out with a Tredecim (or even a Death Scythe +1 since they're worth squat nowadays) and then slowly but hopefully eventually get the +DMG OAT Vengance if my insterest in DRK even lasts that long. The difference between Perdu and STR atk boils down to (if I'm not missing anything)
5 damage
1 attack
4 str
vs.
5 acc
-12 delay
I personally think 513 delay is a big plus since you get a true 6-hit from SAM sj and rajas+brutal. On the other hand, Perdu looks nicer!
If most merit points weren't gotten on the one of the few types of monster that steals TP, I doubt there would be this distinction between a "true" 6-hit and a 6-hit.
Why? Starting from zero is a disadvantage to the non-true 6 hit, but it doesn't change the fact that even if you don't get TP stolen you need an extra hit if you didn't land one of the Gullotine hits.
I've deicded to go the Ultimatum path for now, anyway. The 10 Eyes really are impossible on my server..
The probability of a multi-hit WS like Guillotine missing completely is very low, especially when the first hit has 95% hit rate. Even if you miss the first hit (5% of the time), you most probably will get some filler TP from the other hits.
First hit is largely irrelevant to x-hit, it's the same as missing a swing in your tp cycle unless you have an odd configuration of stp gear in tp vs ws. I'm not saying I'm a fan of true 6hits though, if you wanted to min-max you could easily macro an additional stp piece if you miss the extra hits completely.
Love Halberd or High Damage Bradamante for Dragoon?
I just meant that even with a horrible hit rate (not conducive to TP gain at all) the first hit generally being capped hit rate keeps low the probability of missing outright. Perhaps if you find yourself losing TP because you're out of range (could happen more often in practice than actually missing all hits). :8
asking a question for a corsair friend: he wants to know which earring set is better for light/dark shot, the +8 AGI or the +5 MAB/MACC set. thanks ~
No one knows how AGI and Maac stack up against one another, or has even proven Magic Acc affects Quick Draw. This has been stated ad nauseum.
Personally I'm sold on Altdorf and Wilhelm's 8 AGI - what I've decided is I'll go with Maac if the total is as high/higher than the AGI. For example, Rover's Gloves (3 AGI, 3 Maac) over Skadi's Bazubands (5 AGI). Outside of something like that I feel like I'm really gambling, and without a lot to gain. 8 AGI vs 5 Maac, I'll pass, especially considering those MaB/Maac earrings are a timesink, and near worthless if you have Novio/Moldavite and Altdorf's/Wilhelm's.
This thread contains a parse of MAcc's effect on QD. Additionally, it's generally accepted that 1 Stat = 1 MAcc = 1 Skill when dStat < 10, and 2 Stat = 1 MAcc = 1 Skill when dStat > 10. Obviously a single parse isn't conclusive and the MAcc relations are inferred from testing on nukes/enfeebles, but I have seen no evidence to the contrary.
Is Veuglaire a red herring? Do corsairs not use elemental staves? Did SE not say AGI affected Quick Draw accuracy (just as a reference)?
I believe it's 15, not 10.
All things being equal, explaining dealing 12,116 damage instead of 7,921, a 53% increase, entirely with Warlock's Roll leaves me a bit quizzical. However, there's no doubt anecdotal evidence suggests Maac does affect QD.
It's one thing to favor anecdotal evidence that suggests something vague. Quite another to extrapolate that thought and assume it's both better than what is known and in this specific way ...and then go all-out investing to gear on this assumption.
I understand the thinking, but considering the potential improvement is small, the conclusory evidence not there, and the time invested somewhat significant... I can't say I think it's a smart use of one's time to go out and camp Eldritch Edge and Blighting Brand for QD Acc earrings when you already have Altdorf/Wilhelm because of WS. If these theories are ever actually tested and proven, then in my opinion they become a legitimate thing to sink your time into.
Bottom line to me - use either, whichever you prefer.. But until the unknowns turn to knowns there isn't much we can conclude.
For Raging Rush,
nhands+byakkos haidate
or
hachiryu kote+hecatomb subligar
Bumping this because I'm still not clear, and I've not been in a situation where I could do any controlled testing yet.
Also, I've seen two different theories posted around:
One states that "1 STR is roughly equivalent to 2.25 R.Att is roughly equivalent to 4 AGI on WS".
One states that "Adding a single point of R.Att is roughly 25% more effective than adding a single point of STR" (on both TP and WS, I think).
The former sounds more realistic to me, but that would make Taru RSE2 roughly equal to Scout's Socks, which every RNG I've asked personally feels is heresy, lol.
i just haven't been able to figure out wtf to do with the acp body. i have WAR MNK THF as my main DD jobs. all are pretty well geared (missing salvage gear but its in progress).
i was leaning toward something for thf but Rapparee/homan and heca bodies seem stronger/faster
your thoughts?
Body with acc and att + 10 would serve your thf and mnk just fine. I'd stick with HQ hauby or aurum body for war. The acc10 dw++ is better if you want to focus on just thf, but acc/att would work across all your jobs. Not to mention a free hauby for thf and mnk is pretty hard to beat.
For DRK zerg: Tiercel Necklace & Blitz Ring vs Cougar Pendant and Bloodbead Ring?
When I zerg I either use a Kraken or a M Kris and eat Carbonara. My gear set-up is:
Kraken/Kris_ || Januwiyah___ || _____________ || Happy Egg
W. Turban__ || Cougar Pend. || Bloodbead Ear_ || Cassie Ear
Gloom BP___ || Homam Hands || Bloodbead Ring || BQ Ring
Gigant Mant. || Speed Belt__ || Homam Legs__ || Homam Feet
The Bloodbead Earring gets replaced with Intruder's depending on the zone or with a Wyvern Earring depending on SJ. I'm guessing that when I /DRG I should swap Cougar Pendant for Tiercel Necklace to cap at 26%, and when I'm not /DRG I should swap both the neck and ring for haste? 80 HP just seems like a lot to drop for 2% haste so I thought I'd ask.
Ahhhhh ffs I had it in my head that it was tagged "All jobs."
Damn.
I suppose I should still swap Blitz vs Bloodbead though?
