Should I be using White Tathlum or Black Tathlum for monk?

I have Usukane Sune-ate, Rajas Ring and Brutal Earring and I am currently using Destroyers. I'd go from 19 to 18 hits from 0 to 100 and I believe it should shave a hit off after Asuran Fists (barring three or more misses).

My concern is with TP overflow from extra hits and my reaction speed, it wouldn't be worth it using the White Tathlum.

I have an Elemental Magic set for RDM, but I almost never use it, but I'm a Taru w/ 5/5 INT merits and 8/8 Elemental magic merits as well; also sport full Morri. Normally all the INT I stack gets the job done for anything that doesn't need to be camped/only pops every 21-24 hours. Bugard grip +1, phantom tathlum, prudence torque, moldy/novio, gleeman's, witch sash, hq staff + full morri. Throw in a cream puff for extra goodness, and never use elemental grips for nukes. So, yeah, I'd try to go for Warlock's chapeau +1 if possible, some int torque (though ele torque isn't bad), another earring w/ int/mab (or that new set w/ matk/macc), and the rest of you gear looks pretty ok.

If you're just using WAR on HNM, then Raging Rush isn't really an issue. I see you trading 15 DEX (somewhere between 1 and 10% Crit rate) and about 12 Acc for 10 STR (2-3 fSTR, 2-3 from 30% mod) and about 12-13 Attack.

Obvious answer is, if you need the Accuracy then Byakko's win. If you're getting 10% Crit rate out of it, then Byakko's win. If you don't need the accuracy but your target also has such high AGI that you aren't getting much crit rate out of it (like a melee Mamool), then Hachiryu would likely win.

Right now, on Birds you'd definitely want to use Byakko's. On Mamool, if you're eating Pizza Hachiryu would probably be fine. On HNM, you might as well use Hachiryu (do people Raging Rush HNMs?)

Decided to do a Kuina trial katana for shits and giggles and I'm not sure which would be best. I'm aware I can do multiple of them, but as mind-numbing as the trials are so far, let's just start with this first one. >_> Maybe I'll tackle another later on.

The ones that jump out at me are:

Dmg 36, Delay 201, DEX+4, Acc+8
Dmg 36, Delay 201, STR+4, Atk+12
Dmg 36, Delay 201, AGI+4, Eva+12 (for soloing)

There's also the 'Add effect: impairs evasion/defense' or 'Add effect: impairs acc' ones, which could be decent as well for DDing or soloing, respectively.

Or another option is to just wait until the update and see how they expand the trials, but I figured I'd throw this out there for now and see if any is overwhelmingly a must have.

inb4 'lolnin', 'level a real job', etc. Like I said, this is mostly for fun for those rare occasions I get to play nin.

I went 2x eva katana, mozu and working on the good OAT one. The eva katanas make a huge difference.

I Raging Rush on Dark Ixion when I go War/Sam for RR spam and for skillchains at kings and random shit. Personally though I like Steel Cyclone the most out of War weaponskills. Thanks for your input.

Even taking the piercing bonus into account, Sturmwind should be performing quite a bit better than Double Thrust(personal experiences support this).

lolparsing/eyeballing, but I always did quite a bit better with Gaxe than PLM, and that's with full PLM merits(whatever ones were active at that level, anyway) and no Gaxe merits

We've always given out answers to Cannonball questions in favor of STR, but the fact is we don't have enough information to decipher the difference unless we figure out the role of DEF. We also have to figure out if STR is playing an extra role beyond MODs/fSTR. Until we get samples of Cannonball at 1:1 ratio (Suiram has those, but he disappeared), 2:3 ratio, and 3:2 ratio, it's unlikely we'll have a conclusive answer.
