Ok so I've been grinding and leveling up and decided to do the last few missions. After I did 63 I noticed that the Adamantoises don't spawn anymore and these Jesus Gui's pop now.

How the hell do you kill these? All my party members are at the magic reduction cap. (44%)
1st move it does if I don't summon is Ultima and it destroys me.

Everyone is 5/6 on capped Crystarums, and I don't see the last one really making or breaking me with this fight. Only one of my relics is at 99 which is Fangs, problem is I can't farm reliably now because I can't farm for plat. ingots.

So anyone know a good strat for these?

Thanks smart ass. Why post one of the hardest mobs in the game in a random farming area? I'm quite sure others will have problems with this.

You basically have to switch in and out of SEN/SEN/SEN alot to reduce the damage. It's very annoying given the paradigm shift animation and the shitty camera the game likes to give you, but that's the only way i've managed to take them down so far. Normally I use shrouds, go in SEN/SEN/SEN, wait for it to Ultima, SAB/SAB/SAB a leg then RAV/RAV/RAV it until Highwind will 1-shot it. Repeat for the other leg. Debuff it when it drops, SYN/SYN/SYN for enspells. RAV/RAV/RAV it to 999% then COM/COM/COM, Highwind when the bar is about to deplete and then do it all again! You'll have to rebuff the basics at some point, but don't keep on it too much. Roar is annoying in that regard. Should take two head drops until it dies. Oh, and through all of this you'll be constantly switching to SEN/SEN/SEN and MED/MED/MED.

None of my characters are maxed yet, nor does anyone have a maxed out Ultimate Weapon, but this strat works, so whatever.

I believe you can avoid this by starting mission 63 and not killing the mark. I'm not 100% sure if it replaces Gui with Adamans again, but I remember hearing something like that.

It's missions 56-62 that spawn the Long Guis I think. Have you tried the Death method? Summon Hechatoncheir > Imperil > spam Death > retry if it doesn't die. I'm not sure if they're immune or not.

They do drop Traps, they don't drop Platinum Ingots.

Death method doesn't work on the Long Guis.

And yes, go SENx3 to lower the damage of Ultima.

This worked really well, took a few trys but I got it down. Seems kind of random if you die thou, fuckers can be a bitch and spam stomp. 3/6 on Dark matter =)
And Traps do drop got 1 that I Npc'd

I'd say Adamantoises if your farming for gil. The Gui's drop items for upgrading STR and Mage items. Dark Matter runs 850k from the npc.

On a side note, if you still want to farm an Adamantoise and not a Long Gui, I'm pretty sure the one in Eden stays an Adamantoise and that one I know respawns.

So..is it 56-62 that spawns them? Or is it accepting 63? I went ahead and accepted 63 thinking I could just go and abandon it (I wanted to get raped by the last mark for shits and giggles) and the guis would despawn but they definately didn't. I have a save file before I did mark 61ish but I really don't feel like spending another hour trying to do M62 just to find out.

Pretty sure it's simply accepting 63, cause that's when they appeared for me too.

Don't know what to say then; I did them all in order, and they just didn't appear for me until I accepted 63.

Let me say that I have NOT done all the missions up to and including 63, I've just done up to 51 AND then I've also done 63 (in order to get another genji glove).

I think Titans trails or the missions in the circle spawn them once completed.

I'm betting it's the missions in the circle because I was definately still doing normal turtles after I finished Titan trials.

Completed Trials and was farming 63 because my drop rates are depressing. Still Adamantoise for me, so who the hell knows.
