Does anyone else get these messages from their school?

About once a week or so there's a rape/shooting/robbery/assault/car jacking/burglary on or near campus, and every student gets a text message and an email that says

"A robbery has been reported on the south side of campus at 11:39am. Victims describe their assailant as a black male. If you see anyone who fits this description, please call the police at 330-375-2181."

I thought it was funny at first, but after a seeing this a few times per month for so many years, it's really getting on my nerves.

City and university police are looking for a black male who was involved in a shooting at about 12:30 a.m. Thursday at the plasma center at Brown and East Exchange streets. The suspect ran south. If you see someone who fits this description, call police at 330-375-2181.

A few weeks ago:

University police are investigating a report of an assault that took place at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 9 on Carroll Street, under the pedestrian bridge between Shrank Hall North and the Auburn Science and Engineering Center.

A student reported that he was assaulted by a back male, age 18 to 25. The assailant took the student's bookbag and ran west.

The victim was treated and released.

If you see someone who fits this description please call UA police at 330-972-2911.

UA police recommend the following:

* Be aware of your surroundings wherever you travel -- downtown, the mall, etc...
* Travel in pairs, if possible, especially after dark.
* Use the campus escort service between 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. during the fall and spring semesters. To request an escort, call 330-972-7263.
* Program the UAPD phone number into your cell phone so that you have easy access to it. The number is 330-972-2911.

That's not a misspelling on my part, it actually says "back male", but they obviously meant black. At least in this case they're only saying to call the police if you see any young black male, as opposed to any black male of any age. Of course, everyone black guy on campus is a black male carrying a backpack, so yeah...

On topic: I do my civic duty and just call the cops any time I see a black person, especially if they're wearing a suit. Goddamn darkies stealing the white man's clothes.

That reminds me, there was a car jacking once and we got an email that basically said to call the cops if we see a black guy driving a nice car.

My uni last year did a big recycling kick and wanted us to recycle papers and printouts and stuff. For about three weeks we had two boxes in the dorm hallway. One said White the other said Colored. Eventually someone caught on and it got changed to Plain Paper and Colorful Paper.
