thats pretty much top of the line from AMD. I was gonna get that in my new build, But decided to go with intel i7. Just because it was "new hip thing to do".

I its cheap/overclocks nicely. So you prob wont be disappointed if u get it. For some reason my cellphone connection wont let me look at the Asus website for the motherboard.

But i just got an Asus board for my i7. Work like a charm so far

I thought about building a new computer completely as my mobo, as you can see, has everything built on and as I dont use either the built on video or sound i'd technically have a whole other pc to play with D: but am need to save money so trying to just upgrade from dual core to quad core with same mobo~

That board will take an AM3 chip with a BIOS update. Your limitation on RAM is that your board won't accept DDR3.

IF I build a pc it will be a slow process so price doesn't end up being a problem (took me a year to build my last one)

But currently I don't want to spend more than $300 to upgrade a CPU and that's a large reach as most AMDs don't go much over $200 ~

    My current build is :

    Mobo: ASUS M3A78-T
    CPU : AMD Athlon 64 X2 3.2GHz Socket AM2 125W Dual-Core Processor
    RAM: 4GB Kingston 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
    GPU: Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX
    HD 1: Western Digital 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s
PSU: RAIDMAX RX-850SS 850W ATX12V 2.2V / EPS12V 2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Active PFC Modular LED Power Supply
OS: Win7 Ultimate 64 (not that this is an overall major importance atm)

Also have heat-sinks on both sticks of ram ~ was recommended by pc tech friend of mine~

I really just want to go from dual core cpu to quad core cpu atm as a 'quick' fix upgrade ~

save yourself some money. Ultimate prob isnt needed for what your doing. And if ur just gonna build over time. I would just wait sit on my money so i could buy all at one time. Technology changes about ever 6 months. You could find better deals down the road for the items ur posting now. Or better items for the same price?
