I'm one of the handful that liked Clara more with The Twelfth than I did with The Eleventh.

With Smith's Doctor, (and the exceptions being Asylum and the Christmas special) she was just... there. A bump on a log. With Capaldi's, she had much more personality; he grated on her, she kept him in check, but it's clear they still mattered to the other... almost like The Tenth and Donna.

I just hope her departure won't suck. I'll be mad if they handle it the way they did Ian and Barbara.

She did! But I don't think it was her fault. Honestly, so soon after Rose departing* they threw her in with The Doctor and even made it flirtatious immediately. That is what fell flat with me. I loved Rose and The Doctor together and then BAM! it felt like The Doctor didn't care and was ready to move on. I feel like they toned it back a bit pretty soon afterwards but the damage was done with me.

Martha is on the Wachowski's Netflix show, Sense8 now. I recommend you check her out in that.

*I binge watched these episodes so there wasn't a proper break between seasons when it came to Martha's season, and that has a lot to do with it.

Well i found this episode to be much better than pretty much all of last season barring maybe the first episode so optimistic for the rest of this one, it felt much more like Doctor Who imo.

That was a good episode, the Mistress's explanation of her relationship with the Doctor could have heavy implications, and I feel like this is a little closer the Clara everyone was hoping to see.

Michelle Gomez continues to be fantastic.

This was actually my first "new" episode I've had the chance to watch since finally catching up on this series after the last season.

Very good first episode. Last season was pretty....ehh, but if this whole season is as good as this episode, I'll be quite happy with it.

So I just got around to watching it... and wow that was pretty much better than the entire previous season combined. Much more in the direction that people expected Capaldi to be I'm sure.
Also, yay cliffhangers, I missed those two parters.

No, they never did.

Considering they explained away humanity's memories of Journey's End with the cracks in space-time, I doubt we'll ever see a proper explanation.

I watched the episode after seeing you guys say it was better than the previous season, and I have to agree.

Two novel (at least to me) creepy space creatures and some recurring characters! The "next episode preview" was kind of cheesy, but not so cheesy that I'm unwilling to watch it and find out what we'll get.

I loved the way this past episode opened, I thought it was great. It got more than a little cheesy with the "Missy you're so fine" stuff on the computer screen and her giant head looming in the room. All of that I thought was too much cheese. Other than that I did enjoy the episode a lot and look forward to the next one.

I have mixed feelings on Capaldi. I couldn't get behind him last year at all, but I felt a lot better about him in this season's opener. I don't think it's him as an actor that I have a problem with, I think it's the writing lately that has me turned off.

My biggest issue, spoilered just in case.

If I remember the last of Matt Smith's season correctly, they basically ended with Gallifrey returning to our universe. So I expected the search for Gallifrey to play a huge role in the next season, but it was barely mentioned. Seems like one of the biggest plot points in recent Doctor Who history was just brushed aside.
