All these eps are supposed to be 2-parters though, right? No idea where they're going to go with this. Maybe having used the helmet before, the healing device sensed its usage and tries to "repair" her back to the alien species or something?

"Appeared to be" as in played. It is possible to have older people play younger characters. Her character was heavily playing with dolls in a Viking world. She was getting knocked up or shit like that. Logic would reason she's a younger character. This my reasoning and questions.

It will be the post Death In Heaven Doctor visiting the pre-Death In heaven Unit/Osgood. Kate Stewart made mention about the Doctor getting a hair cut in Death In Heaven (it was much shorter than it is now), so that means that she met his new incarnation before Death In Heaven which will be this episode. It also means that the Doctor has knowledge about Osgood's death and it will be a reminder to him. Current speculation is that the Doctor has seen/knows Clara will die and this whole season is him visiting and spending time with her before it happens
