There were definitely some weak episodes, overall I had still been enjoying it though. But yeah, this wait between seasons is going to suck.

Sleep no more was the only bad episode this season imo. Of course, it was exceptionally bad.
I think I can be ok with the whole idea of new show runner and new doctor for season 11 in 2018... I can get over these things. I just don't get the lame ass excuse to push a show back because of the Olympics. Fucking british people.
Well hey, time to catch up on Big Finish? :/
And I'm ok with a new show runner, just not one with his track record. Just finished rewatching 42 because I didn't remember it at all, didn't even remember it several minutes into it, and not particularly impressed when I did remember which it was.
well, since it will more or less be a break for a year and a half, I can tell myself dr who is dead and focus on other shows.
I don't know if the new guy will be better, but the show went pretty steadily to shit with Moffat at the helm so I'm glad to see him gone. Sucks that we're going to have to wait 2 years to get episodes that aren't Moffat'd.
heh, you're right. OK so the only non subpar episode wasn't written by him. Great.
Didn't "The Hungry Earth" and "Cold Blood" introduce the Silurians to this generation of Dr Who? I thought those were pretty decent eps. And I liked Dino's on a spaceship as a fun episode, the rest were pretty much forgettable though.
I guess this raises the chance of having a female Doctor.
Yes they did. But they weren't great episodes by themselves and he doesn't really get credit for (literally) digging up a race from the old series. None of his episodes were the worst, we just have a pretty consistent track record of "below average" and "pretty forgettable." I looked on imdb ratings, while the show itself has 8.8 his are all 7.5 ish. Worse things could happen but if the overall show becomes all his work it doesn't look great.
Also I guess I'm in the camp that doesn't think Moffatt's run the show to shit. Only 1 bomb episode in the last season and some pretty good stuff overall. I'd agree Moffatt isn't doing things as well as he used to, series 5 and 6 are still the most epic, but after that is still better than this other guy's turns at bat.
I don't find it even remotely okay that not only they decided to not go with a full season in 2016, but that they won't release ANYTHING until Christmas...
And then what? Have people wait until late 2017 before Series 10 is released?
Just seems like it's a messed up way to allow Moffat to do one final season before leaving, even though they were trying to push him out in the first place because he claimed he wouldn't be able to commit to Dr. Who in 2016 because of his obligations to Sherlock.
I'm just pissed. Fuck Moffat.
Actually the decision to move it to 2017 is not at all Moffat's fault. He was already working on S10 when BBC1 Controller Charlotte Moore made the decision to push the season to 2017 because of the Olympics and the UEFA European Championship.
Bring back Russel T. Davies. Fuck.
When Tennant was on his way out, there was no real full season until almost 2 years later, though they had 4 specials in between. If this extra time gives Moffat enough room to write a decent swan song season for him I am all for it.
The problem is that they're saying no specials at all this year, other than the christmas special... and then S10 to begin in the spring? Which means we'll get an hour of Dr. Who in 11 months, and then have to wait 3-4 more months before getting an actual season.
Meh.
As if no season this year wasn't bad enough Netflix is dropping Doctor Who starting in Feb...
