I was really worried coming into this season and if Jodie can pull it off, but so far I think that first episode was fantastic.
Classic Chibnall with the cliffhanger. Glad that the talk about the disjointed episodes doesn't seem to be true so far.

Where the hell was the opening title though? Not cool.

I think it was just a first episode thing to not have an opening? I know I've seen some shows do that before, can't remember if Doctor Who did that in the past with new doctors or not, been a while.

Last time was that really really weird episode with the sandmen about 3 seasons ago. I can't recall any other time that they had no opening, even with season premieres.

It's probably because no Tardis yet. The opening is supposed to signify the Tardis travelling through time with colors each meaning back or forward.

The opening sequence will be back in episode 2. They didn't put it in because they didn't want to waste time with it and put as much as they could into the episode. Plus the Doctor wasn't herself yet so it would've felt off.

Jodie's slowly growing on me. I love how different the personality is from Capaldi's doctor.

Intro is amazing. I'm on the fence about the TARDIS. Overall I like the design but the overhanging crystals make it feel extremely claustrophobic. If they brighten it up just a touch it'll probably be OK.

I dunno, the 2 new companion dudes being able to figure out how to start the solar powered boat over 2 spaceship pilots?
The kid running out with the gun to shoot the sniper droids. Oh also those "sniper" droids seemed to be trained by stormtroopers.

I like this Doctor but man, the writing this season is... not the greatest. Not being subtle about it's views either is it? While views I agree with it's VERY heavy handed and kind of cringy and takes me out of the show.

Funnily enough I really enjoyed tonight’s episode, although not sure about the ‘twist’ near the end..

I liked most of it but god damn that ending ruined it. The twist was fine, but how awkwardly preachy it got just killed it. And with the bad guy found out,

why would you need to blow up the facility? Teleport them into space or just *cancel* the delivery. Even do the whole "deliver it to yourself" thing but leave out the unnecessary detonations till you can arrange for them to be ported out to space. And how is a system capable of rebelling against him enough to murder his would-be girlfriend to make him feel bad not able to just refuse his orders?

Oh, and some of the special effects were the worst since old Who.
