Sure, but those two episodes kinda took it to the extreme.

Outside the context of the plot it all makes sense though, they're treating this as a reboot like the 2005 series was. Donna and Tennant's Doctor get a peaceful retirement. Gatwa's Doctor gets a clean state from all the trauma of the last 18 years to make it a clean jumping in point for the new viewers they're hoping to attract in the US with the show being on Disney+

For sure, I think Gatwa will be amazing honestly.

I personally think it'd be cool to have Tennant pop up randomly during gatwa's run as doctor. Gatwa definitely seems like he's gonna be a high energy doctor similar to Tennant with some hints of Whitaker in there. Liking the guy already.

Some mixed thoughts, but overall very new and refreshing... very much the best chance Doctor Who has to be good again. (And for the record I enjoyed the episode.)

This is my first time watching Doctor Who in any capacity and so far I like this.

Okay I'm digging this show so far. I guess the plot of the season is trying to track down where all those space babies are going?

I think the space babies were just a singular plot point for the one episode.

Most Doctor Who seasons follow a pattern of teasing some big bad (referenced in the second episode by Maestro) who is secretly influencing most of the events they encounter over the course of the season.

Probably whoever Susan Twist is, since she's been in every episode so far as a different character which The Doctor caught on to during this newest one.

I reference the Space Babies because Finetime seemed to be populated entirely by people who were sent from "Homeworld" but had memories of parents who were obviously not their real parents (Susan Twist yet again), but they had to have real parents somewhere, so I'm guessing it was that place harvesting babies.

It's the name of the game for a show that has run as long as Doctor Who, but goddamn at using a character who hasn't been on screen since 1975.

Prolly like 99% of the people watching it prolly gonna have to google him, I know I did.

The finale was a little... underwhelming? But still, all things considered, this was a great season. I was a little worried after the first two episodes were kind of bizarre, but I found myself really looking forward to each new episode every week.
