Is it me or does it look like the Doctor won't leave the Ponds alone till they completely hate one another or they're dead?

Eh, it's more that the Doctor knows Amy is addicted to him like most of his other companions. Rory is just along for the ride out of concern for his wife and bordering the breaking point with him and his adventures. Then again the guy has died like 12 times now... so I can understand why he's pissed and feeling a bit betrayed that his wife keeps running back off for more when she's seen him killed on multiple occasions as a result of hanging around the Doctor. Especially when he stuck by her side for 2000 years while locked in a fucking box.

I'm wondering if it's just Amy biting the dust or both of the Ponds. If just Amy, then I see a setup coming where Rory possibly turns into a villain or at least gets involved in some anti-Doctor plot.

I'm guessing that Rory gets mad at Amy always hoping for the Doctor to come by and goes off to with his father for awhile. Hence how he gets pulled into things at some point this season.

I don't think that's it at all. It's not about Amy's lust for adventure at all with The Doctor--it's that Amy shares a lust for adventure with him.

I think The Doctor is an extremely lonely man. He's lost his people, rarely finds anyone he truly connects with, and his last companion met (what I felt was) a tragic end. Amy is, in her way, a kindred spirit (as have been most other companions), and combined with The Eleventh Doctor's sort of childlike mannerisms, it's too good for him to ignore, such that he may not always comprehend the effect he has on their relationship. After all, Rory has had to blow at him over the subject at least once.

Moffat was not playing when he said how we meet the new companion was going to be different...Was not expecting to see her so soon ...seems to be on the same level if not smarter than the doctor. I am guessing the Doctor goes back to save her at some point? But doesn't that mess up the timeline??

I think because she was introduced as a Dalek, that "genius" might not be as high as the Doctor. But what would be more interesting to see is how she gets out of the Dalek form. Rory and Amy are exiting the series in December and I'm really afraid of the theories of Rory = The Master.

Honestly, that was best Dalek episode since "Dalek" with Christopher Eccleston. And I was really surprised to see her this early in the series. I would bet that the "mystery" surrounding her and why she is the most interesting companion for the doctor ever is because, when he meets her later, he doesn't know why she's alive and not a Dalek.

I hope Rory isn't the Master, though it would one hell of a reveal. I guess all of his deaths have been not quite so normal, so perhaps the regeneration never kicked in. Still, that's quite a long time to keep a fob watch hidden if that's what he did again. And if it's not a fob watch...he is the Master at acting.

Amy Pond was introduced in the first episode of the 5th season, so it's not really abnormal that his new companion would appear so soon.

This is correct however it was just surprising to see her character so soon. It would make sense though because when she becomes the new companion we will at least be somewhat familiar with her since the doctor now has a past with her. I think it was a good choice since she comes in midway through the season. I still want to know how they are going to pull it off with her as the new companion though. If the doctor goes back to save her, he messes with his own timeline and he wouldn't get the help from her...meh I'll just say wibbly wobley timey wimey stuff. Maybe she uploaded her mind somewhere and she downloads it into an android or a teselecta or something.
