Why is all the shit in this thread spoilered when half of it isn't spoilery?

Because it talks about things that haven't happened or are rumored to happen. There are observations that point to things possibly happening in the future and some people get very upset when it comes to these kind of things. While it may not be 100% spoilers, it's better to play it safe and tag it anyways.

Christopher Eccleston, the 9th Doctor, has said on several occasions he will not return as the Doctor in a special. That does disappoint me, as I would love to see his more serious Doctor verbally abuse Matt Smith. David Tennant would probably say yes before they even finished asking the question.

Still, some sort of end of time collapsing thing would be interesting. What I wish they would (could) do in one of these instances is, if they have someone locked in for the 12th already, would be to include them in such a meetup.

At the same time, Eccleston during a more recent interview said that he felt his time with the Doctor "wasn't up" or something along those lines, suggesting that he changed his mind from when he made his initial comments about not wanting to return as the Doctor. I know Tennant would likely say something about it, and McGann (the 8th Doctor) has also mentioned that he'd love to at some point if he were approached about it

Damn I hope so. With Paul McGann they might finally explain the last great time war since it was 8th doctor that fought in the war (9th doctor was newly regenerated in Rose). Re watching the classic serials make you appreciate all the interconnected storylines with the multiple doctors.

Speaking of which, anyone can PM a good source of classic serials that are not found on netflix? I really enjoyed Peter Davidsons serials and I wanted to watch more of Patrick Troughton (probably my favorite classic doctor, I see him as the most important figure in the entire series as he became the backbone behind the continuation of the series)

The last two episodes had a lot less meat to them that contribute to the overall theme of the story. Its made obvious that time is progressing forward for Rory/Amy and reverse for the Doctor, but unless the next episode is a huge revelation, I would consider the opening part of this series a bit weaker compared to the past two.

I liked the nod towards the Bridgadier and the humor in the episode (Doctor Who playing the wii? brilliant!).

The hologram of a Shakri, is that a new villain? It doesn't feel like it was developed well enough to really identify it as the new "big thing"

What were the themes in this episode? Where were the flickering light bulbs?

Karen Gillan is hot and I want to get a hair cut like Rory.

Just re-watched to make sure: They're still on the slabs behind Rory, Amy, and the Doctor when he tells them to run. They went kablooey with the ship. I, too, thought that was very un-Doctorly of him.

I'm just.. not really enjoying this season so far. I was so excited and hyped for it, now I feel so let down. My own fault I guess. =(

This episode seemed kind of rushed to me. It felt like it could have been a two-parter, with a bit more meat given to each part of the invasion. More on UNIT, more varied attacks, more interaction with the Shakri. The Doctor literally just waved his screwdriver around at the screen and everyone was fixed and the space ship blew up.

So, if the season has been in reverse for the Doctor (the phone charger in King Henry's room basically proves it), how will the end of this episode be connected to something that already happened to the Ponds? Does he take them around for awhile, drop them off when they're tired, and then pick them up again for their trip to New York?

Knowing Steven Moffat and his previous work, everything adds up in the end. I'm sure next weeks episode will make a lot of sense and reconnect the dots with the Angels and NYC.

If it doesn't. Oh well. Doctor Who has seen worst story telling.

So... Is anyone going to address the fact that there was a fob watch on Rory's nightstand in the latest episode?

Let's talk chronological order for a moment:

I know I pointed out in the past that these episodes could be in reverse from the Doctors perspective but I just realized something from tonight's episode (The Power of Three)

During Amy and Rory's party on their anniversary, the Doctor shows up and whisks them off on an adventure. It was during this time that the events of Henry VIII and the charger event happened along with "A Town Called Mercy". Reason being is that at the end of the episode, the Doctor wanted to take them on another adventure, but Amy said that they wanted to get back otherwise their friends would notice that they were aging a lot faster than them. At first this comment made little sense, but after tonight's episode we realize that this occurred during the party and we learned that they were gone for 7 weeks. There is even evidence of ATCM happening during the episode as we later see the Doctor playing the Wii and the stetson with the bullet hole is hanging up on the wall.

Rory's father was surprised by the Tardis in #2, but the line "Yes, I am a queen but don't tell Rory" is likely a reference to the whole mistake with the vows...which happened during their outing on their anniversary, after Rory's Father already knew about the Tardis. So when does 2 take place? After #4? But then the Tardis...
