    Spoiler: show
I wonder if her picking "pond" was an accident on her part (as in she just meant the frozen pond, and it happened to be a reference to the Ponds) or if she actually remembered the Ponds and thus tied them together?

Made me wonder if Moffat is a fan of GoT.

I was watching Back to the Future 3 and I noticed something at the end of the movie. The outfit that Doc Brown has is nearly identical to the new suit the Doctor has. Don't know if it's a coincidence or what. Just thought I'd point that out. The coat, undershirt, pocket watch all look very similar. The only difference is that Doc Brown has a bigger Bow-tie thingy.

So I caught a couple episodes of this during the new years eve marathon and liked it a lot. Is there a recommended point to start watching from? Seems this goes all the way back to black and white.

I would recommend starting with the reboot in 2005. Eccs is an amazing doctor, don't want to miss him.

    Real talk.

So much fan wank over Tennant, Eccelston and Smith get virtually no credit. All three were amazing versions of The Doctor, and all three deserve their props.

Tennant imo is the best. My wife prefers Eccleston. We've yet to get into the Smith episodes. So that could change as well. Any way you look at it, great show.

Eccleston is my personal favorite, but I swear I love Smith more with every new episode.

I don't give a fuck if its heresy, I'd go so far as to say Smith is doing as good a job, if not better, than Tennant.

The Smith episodes are written much better.

Honestly, you should start with the 2005 series since it is the most current run. You may or may not like Eccelston's Doctor, but it really is a good starting point because it was the series that reintroduced the Doctor to those who are new to Doctor Who. After you get accustomed to the Who Universe, then you might want to go back to the older episodes just to get some of the history of the Doctor.

Personally I think Matt Smith is the best of the new Doctor's, but Tennant is a close second. I also think Smith was helped out by having by far the best companion, while Tennant had a bunch of lackluster ones. I also don't think Tennant really came into his own until his second season, whereas Smith was great from the get go.

That being said I really wish Eccleston had a second season because he got better as the first season went on, and I think he would have been fantastic the next go around. Maybe we'll get lucky and have another Three Doctor's type special with the new ones (if it isn't already planned).

I'm just confused as to how people can like Smith. I don't hate it but I don't care for him. I find all his episodes just blah and he's very childish. I'll admit Amy was a great companion but if Tennant or Ecc had his place it'd have been a much better ride IMO. Also, I loathe what they did to the Weeping Angels. They turned them from a Horror Movie movie to a children's movie. I do like some of the episodes Smith is in, the way he goes about finding the answer is pretty neat.

And I really really really want a 3 Doctors special. That'd be fucking tits.

... The Time of Angels/Flesh and Stone are among the best Doctor Who episodes ever created.

It's sad that Eccs left, but he said in an interview that he didn't didn't get a lot with the production crew or something along those lines. He didn't like the direction the show was going and there may have been some bad blood. But that was back during the RTD era so who knows, maybe he would come back for the 50th since Moffat is running things now.

I read that Eccleston just didn't want to get typecast as The Doctor, but doesn't really matter I suppose. In any case, Smith > Eccleston > Tennant. Not that any are bad, but I just always felt that Tennant's Doctor was never as believable as Smith's when it came to showing emotional involvement or accountability. Eccleston just because he was the first in the reboot and it's a bit hard to shake your first. Also, new companion

I heard that as well, but I guess he spilled the beans on the more pressing issues that bothered him to an acting class that asked him about it.

I left Doctor Who because I could not get along with the senior people. I left because of politics. I did not see eye-to-eye with them. I didn’t agree with the way things were being run. I didn’t like the culture that had grown up around the series. So I left, I felt, over a principle.

I thought to remain, which would have made me a lot of money and given me huge visibility, the price I would have had to pay was to eat a lot of shit. I’m not being funny about that. I didn’t want to do that and it comes to the art of it, in a way. I feel that if you run your career and.. we are vulnerable as actors and we are constantly humiliating ourselves auditioning. But if you allow that to go on, on a grand scale you will lose whatever it is about you and it will be present in your work.
