I enjoyed Cold War, I thought it was better than The Rings of Akhaten.

Kind of disappointed that Clara is so... tame. I was hoping we'd see something more like Oswin Oswald (Asylum of the Daleks) and Clara Oswin Oswald (Christmas special), but this episode gave us a glimmer.

Yeah, I doubt that we're actually told his name. The only reason I can see is so Moffat can say he named the Doctor, which is a pretty piss reason.

Hopefully I'm not just being too hopeful.

I'd take this with a grain of salt. Remember, Season 5 had an episode titled "The Doctor's Wife" and it was just a playful title regarding the relationship between the Doctor and the Tardis.

we were also teased with finding out his name with River knowing his name. I hope they don't tell us his actual name, but with how he became "The Doctor" instead would be more appropriate

Probably just Easter eggs related to this being the 50th anniversary of the series, but has anyone else noticed the either overt or subtle references to all the earlier Doctors? The Great Intelligence again (being a 2nd Doctor villain) in "The Bells of Saint John", the Doctor saying he visited the alien market before with his granddaughter in "The Rings of Akhaten", who was the 1st Doctor's companion for a good while, the Ice Warriors in "Cold War", who appeared in a number of serials in the 2nd and 3rd Doctor eras, and the Metebelis III crystal in "Hide", which was tied heavily into the 3rd Doctor serials "The Green Death" and "Planet of the Spiders".
