Great episode and also, watched An Adventure in Space and Time for the first time. Holy shit that's emotional.
And of course I got a few nerd nitpick moments but still an amazing episode. I really didn't care for Smith too much but he fucking killed it in this episode.
Even though Smith suffered from some bad writing, he saved the show for me. I am sad to see him go.

i feel like at some point pretty recently moffat decided that "ten regenerating into the same face" would count as one of them, so earlier episodes weren't written accordingly. also with him trying not to acknowledge his John Hurt incarnation you could argue that he was playing along so people didn't ask about the missing regeneration, but yeah I'm pretty sure it's mostly the former.

It took a long time for any of it to make sense.
:\
I am not a Dr who fan just was forced to watch the Christmas special. 1 issue I hat was the weeping angels. There was like 5 or so of them in the snow... Then they show him tricking 1. What happened to them in the rest of the show / 300 years?
Wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff.
And that's why I can't get into this show, in the words of my obsessed friend "stop poking holes in the show", but I can't.
It's a show about time travel with tons of holes, lots of shit is not explained, if you need a answer the show is probably not for you.
I mean I could drive myself nuts with the last episode and time freezing and what Not.
its not so much the holes i have issues with its the inconsistancy , like i like the idea of the angel things , but if they get you in a "blink" then MAKE THEM the time traveling shit your pants "you are already dead" gank trains they should be.
They mention some shit just gave up, no? I mean it's not elegant but
my issue with the episode was the Truth Field, the Doctor is shown to be incapable of ignoring it but is later shown breaking it by telling Barnable he has a plan when he doesn't
Barnable (well guy 300 yr after Barnable who the Doctor calls Barnable) -- YOU HAVE A PLAN RIGHT?
The Doctor -- YEP
*Barnable leaves*
Clara -- You don't have a plan do you
The Doctor -- NOPE, NOT REALLY
did he just learn how to do it after 300 years or w/e
his plan was "reassure Barnable by telling him I have a plan"
BOOM
also the whole Handles thing got me
