What I don't get is why they don't try jackhammering one when it's in stone mode.

I always got the impression that the only thing that does any damage to them is starvation.

I mean, if it was that easy, all their angel problems would be solved with a sledgehammer or nearby heavy object.

Didn't the Doctor explain in one of the previous angel episodes that the same quantum lock that makes them unable to move under observation also makes them invulnerable? I think you'd have to hit them while they were moving to do any damage and yeah... gl with that.

For me, the Angels were only scary in Don't Blink. In the Time of Angels and Angels take Manhattan they sucked. The more Angels you have, the less their ability works. In groups they all see eachother and therefor should be locked in place but that's never how it works in those episodes and it bugs the hell out of me.

Anyone else think that the new doctor's mannerisms, facial expressions and way of speaking is basically identical to David Tennant? For a moment there I thought it actually was David Tennant with a tonne of makeup on.

There's more to it than just this.

Angels can look at themselves and not get stuck. The thing that makes this method work is the whole "Whatever holds the image of an angel becomes an angel" thing. You can duplicate an Angel by capturing the image of one by photograph, video, etc. By placing a mirror in front of one that doesn't have its eyes covered, you basically create a second angel within the mirror that is looking back. So they are two different angels looking at each other locking them in place.

So the only two ways to kill an angel is to have another angel look at it, or starve it to death. When it is starving, it begins to look like eroded stone and moves a lot slower. I believe it was said in the Melody Malone book that it only took 1 hour of potential energy from a victim for an angel to get its full strength back.

For me, what made Blink creepier was the cinematography. You'd see the Angel behind Sally and when she moved in front of the camera the Angels face would change. It was the subtle movement that added to the suspense of the episode. It's interesting though that Moffat decided to have the Angels evolve to where they could simply snap the neck of a person in a party and then emulate the dead persons voice in order to lure others into a trap to be fed on.

An angel cannot move if other beings (or other angels) are looking at it, but it can still move if it looks at itself. The mirror technique was used in a Doctor Who novel before, though there are some that argue that the novels are non-canon.

gas mask nano bots was one of my fav ep's but i still think the angels in the mine was the "scariest" one but like a post above said it showed us how they looked when starved (they'd been down there a long time as well which makes them some what annoying)

With filming for Series 8 set to begin next week (Jan 6th, 2014), we should start getting some set reports starting next Monday and probably some information on Capaldi's costume.

Not so much a spoiler, but Peter Capaldi will be keeping his Scottish accent. Some kind of feel that this is a dis on David Tennant because he was forced to adapt a British accent, but the choice for Capaldi to keep his was a creative decision since there was a deep connection between 11 and Amy Pond.

Series 8 Information

• The show comes back in the fall of 2014 presumably late August early September
• Series 8 will run straight through all episodes with no breaks so no split season
• The writers are abandoning two part episodes, but this could change in the future

- Hearing that the Clockwork Droids (Girl in the fireplace) make a return in Series 8 opener in Victorian London. Set reports show that the Paternoster Gang (Jenny, Vastra, and Strax) are in this episode as well.

- Twelve is going to have a hard time with Clara and he will have to win her over since Clara was very fond of Eleven.

- Capaldi will be wearing the same outfit as Matt Smith for the first episode and possibly will not change until the end of the first or second episode
