Also sorry if this has been reported already:

Matt Smith will be in the new Terminator Trilogy in a big role, but no one will say what it is.

And just for fun a video from the filming episode three

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions announced today that “Doctor Who” star Matt Smith will join the cast of the upcoming “TERMINATOR” reboot.

Smith will play a new character with a strong connection to John Connor, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jason Clarke, Emilia Clarke, Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee.

Alan Taylor is directing the film from a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance Productions are producing. Skydance’s Paul Schwake, Annapurna Pictures’ Megan Ellison, Kalogridis and Lussier are executive producing.

Smith is best known for playing The Doctor on the popular “Doctor Who” television series during the 2011-2103 seasons. His other television credits include “Christopher and His Kind,” “Moses Jones,” and “The Street.” He can be seen next on the big screen in “LOST RIVER,” directed by Ryan Gosling, alongside Christina Hendricks, Saoirse Ronan and Eva Mendes.
The role will be a set-up for a stronger role in the next two Terminators.

From what I've been hearing there is a possibility of a proper trailer next week. Also about the earlier rumor I posted

    Spoiler: show

There are reports that the finale for series 8 is being re-written due to an actor possibly dropping out and some are speculating it was Charles Dance but there isn't any confirmation of this so take it with a grain of salt

Hard to be excited with how bad the last season was, but we'll see.

I think this one is going to be a lot better. We have a more accomplished actor playing the Doctor, it's supposedly going to be a lot darker / have a much different tone than previous seasons. Moffatt wants to move away from "pretty boys going on adventures" and more towards something meatier and more challenging, or so he's said. He's written some fantastic episodes in the past (The Empty Child, Blink, The Girl in the Fireplace) so as long as he channels whatever writing ability he had at that time and tones down the cheese factor (and also gets some good writers on board for the eps he doesn't write himself), it should be pretty stellar.

His biggest problem is his need to throw in twists at EVERY turn, imo. He's constantly trying to one-up the last thing he showed you and trick the viewer into thinking one thing when really the show's doing another thing entirely. Sometimes he succeeds admirably, and sometimes it just feels like way too much and trips over itself. Season 6 suffered the most from this. I just couldn't be excited by the outcome of the plot due to its sheer over-intricacy...and some of the solutions ended up being pretty dumb, too. It's one thing to plant a surprise in the story, and quite another to make your viewers follow a labyrinth-like web of vague references, muddy puzzles and barely-noticeable tells for them to make any sense of the ending.

So let's hope the criticisms of series 6 and 7 have reached his ears and he drops some of the unnecessary frills and goes back to solid Doctor Who storytelling. If he can manage that, this could honestly be a great season.

I am a little bummed that there will be no Doctor Who panel at Comic-Con this year, but it makes sense seeing as how when they were in between Tennant and Smith, they didn't have a panel that year either. I am hoping they will set up something special at the BBC booth.

    Also series episode information

    Spoiler: show

    12 Episodes + 1 Christmas Episode

Gathered Info on Episodes - Titles subject to change

8x01 - Deep Breath: The return of the Paternoster Gang, Clockwork Droids, and Jack the Ripper

8x02 - Into the Dalek : Supposed Dalek Story

8x03 - Robots of Sheerwood: Robin Hood themed episode with Robots

8x04 - Listen: Danny Pink is introduced

8x05 - Time Heist: Episode featuring Ms Delphox who runs the most secure bank in the universe

8x06 - ??? : Return to Coal Hill School with the Doctor posing as the caretaker

8x07 - Kill the moon: The Doctor revisits and old location presumably from the Planet of Fire

8x08 - Mummy on the Orient Express:

8x09 - Flatline: Graffiti and a Shrinking Tardis

8x10 - Super Secret episode being filmed currently (set reports talk about the Doctor seeing or visiting a graveyard with certain gravestones making an appearance)

    8x11 - Series Finale Part 1

    8x12 - Series Finale Part 2

The finale will be a two parter, but there will be no break between them since series 8 will run from start to finish August 23rd - November 8th. It will feature the Cybermen, Unit, and The Gatekeeper played by Michelle Gomez. The Gatekeepers looks will remind you of Mary Poppins and she is the Gatekeeper of the Dimension. She has the ability to decide who is allowed into or out of this dimension (and possibly others). Supposedly she will play a role in allowing the Doctor to search for Gallifrey in the pocket dimension at the end of the series

    Spoiler: show

That first episode sounds reminiscent of the first NuWho novel: The Clockwise Man. It was a terrible, overwrought story so I don't remember that much about it, but it was a murder mystery set in London and featured the clockwork droids.

Robin Hood with robots / Mummy on the orient express...is Moffat regressing to his season 7 "boxoffice series" of shitty movie-themed episodes? Good god do we need less of that from him, he doesn't do it well at all as showrunner. Or at least tie the pop culture shit into the story in a meaningful way like the finale of Series 1 (Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways) did.

The BBC is planning to show the season opener at an event in Cardiff on August 7th so I expect a lot of info about the first episode to be leaked online the day after. Not sure if this is a wise decision on BBC's part especially after Moffat got upset and threatened Comic Con fans last year about not leaking the trailer online.

Also, I am hearing this first episode will be 75 minutes long which is about the length of Day of the Doctor.

    Series arc information:

    Spoiler: show

Supposedly this arc will center around the bad guys trying to get to a certain place like paradise (Nethersphere perhaps)

I hope you meant season not series correct? I guess its a British vs US terminology thing lol, in the US end of a series means its over never to be shown again. I was scared for a minute reading your post lol.
