Yeah it felt like only a filler episode (as it's the middle of the series), and it felt a tad rushed as well imo. They should make each episode an hour instead of cramming it into a 40-45 minute slot. Fuck Over the Rainbow or w/e it's called on after it.

Otherwise I thought it was alright. Love the type of villain which berates and teases The Doctor, those are the best kinds of villain. I didn't really make any guesses to the identity of the Dream Lord. I had a vague feeling it would be something like The Trickster but I just refused to keep guessing cos my mind was blank anyway.

As for the ending, I need to re-watch it too. Something about a special kind of psychological dust The Doctor found in the TARDIS which affects you in your sleep that manifested the Dream Lord into his, Amy's and Rory's dreams?

Silurian two-parter next week although trailer looked sorta 'meh.'
    Spoiler: show
Yeah, it did feel a bit rushed and filler-y, but still enjoyable.

The part I didn't get at the end about the Dreamlord was The Doctor explaining about the dust, but in the end, in a reflection, he sees the Dreamlord instead of himself. Is this A) It's the Doctor seeing the bad in himself B) Actually something else, aka The Trickster or Valeyard.

I mean you could even say Dreamlord = Valeyard, wasn't the Valeyard like a bad version of the Doctor? (not super steeped in Dr. Who lore).

And yeah, next week's trailer looked really meh, which i'm hoping is a total head fake

Well I watched it again and apparently it was 'psychic pollen' which had gotten into the TARDIS and heated up, in turn making them all sleepy.

As for the reflection part, I just assumed the Dream Lord has always been a part of the Doctor's mind/personality (for this regeneration at least), and has to have something like the psychic pollen to manifest that. As for not taking on the Doctor's appearance, maybe it's his incapability to accept that it's actually him?

The Valeyard (apparently) is an aspect of the Doctor from his 12th-Last regenerations and has appeared in The Trial of a Time Lord (available on http://www.dailymotion.com/tardismedia) which had the 6th Doctor in. I have no idea whether or not he's supposed to be the Dream Lord but I doubt it.

    Spoiler: show
It seems to be foreshadowing him, even if not intentionally, as you said it's supposed to be an aspect of the Doctor, specifically the dark part of him, and in the episode he mentioned that the psychic dust stuff fed off the darkness in people

    Badabump.

The preview didn't really excite me for this episode, but I thought it was pretty damn captivating, it really feels like Smith has grown into the Doctor. Good stuff all around, hoping that awesome teaser for the 2nd part of the story lives up to uh... how awesome it was. :3

I'm sorta disappointed about the episode with the Silurians. They're reptilians after all, so, why not keep them looking that way? I'm disappointed about that. I'm withholding my opinion on this episode until the second part is released. With that said, the episode I'm really excited about is the one with Vincent Van Gogh. That's going to be way too cool, considering I enjoyed a similar episode from the old series with Tom Baker.

Richard Curtis who created Blackadder, and Steven Moffat (current showrunner of Who, writes some of the best episodes)

How did she forget rory ? didn't the doctor say at the end of the angles episode after she asked why she could still remember the clerics, that she wouldn't forget people that went into the light as she had traveled time. sounds like a massive plot hole to me.

    They explained that.

    Spoiler: show
Rory is part of her own timeline, so it's still subject to it. Those guys were just random people met during time traveling, so they weren't.

    Also my theory:

    Spoiler: show
When they get the whole crack in the wall thing all figured out, Rory will come back! Right? Right? ...right? I'm positive that at the very least, her memories will come back. I say this because of the whole "Daleks? What's that?" thing from earlier in the season. She's obviously going to remember the Daleks after this is done and over with, so I think she'll remember Rory too, then she'll cry and be sad at the Doctor
