Awww, look at the Doctor like a grumpy dad making sure Danny's good enough for his little Clara.

Best episode yet and really good in general, imo.

This was my favorite episode so far. I like the confrontation between danny and the doctor. this afterlife addition is pretty good twist to things i'm looking forward to turn out.

Capaldi continues to shine but IMO this was by and large a badly written episode. There were a handful of good (great, even) lines but that didn't come close to salvaging it for me.
I agree totally. This is what was written/I wrote on another forum about it, as for my thoughts...

My least favourite of S8 so far and that's saying something because S8 has been poor.

Main sin - it was boring as hell. Plot? Danny finally meets the Doctor - so what?! Clara doesn't have to justify herself to anyone, especially not the Doctor (who told her there was zero chance of romance between them at the start of the series) and certainly not Danny Pink, who she only just met! It felt forced, it felt stale, it felt rubbish.

As for the alien? Less than 5 minutes of screen time and it practically a cameo.

Oh! And the Arc is back (and I couldn't care less.)

Overall, a total waste of an episode. It was dull. It didn't feel like Who at all, it felt like an episode of Eastenders, but one of the worst ones. Some comedic moments and lines are all that saved it from a lower score from me.

    3/10
This is pretty much exactly how I felt about the episode.

And what is with the Doctor's sudden hangup about soldiers? He won't shut up about it and it's obnoxious. I understand he has an aversion to war and people who make it their career but I also think he's a little teensy bit more mature than to write off every soldier as a jerk or a dunce. This hatred of soldiers that overtakes his entire personality out of the blue (he has dealt with many soldiers before and never acted this way) is only for the sake of Moffat's grand design and it's...well, it's terrible, contrived writing. There's nothing else to call it.

Courtney's been showing up in nearly every episode so she is obviously important to the overall somehow but man, taking her on a random ride in the TARDIS? Why?! Sure, let's just keep throwing her in, why not...

That flip over the robot just so Danny can save the day at the last minute (somehow, I didn't follow it very well)....sure, why not...

I dunno, I was on board with a few of these episodes but this one... the only positive thing I can say about it is that Clara was brilliant.

I enjoyed it simply for the fact that Danny Pink was the first person in a long while to not instantly like the Doctor, if not outright hate him. Miles better than the trainwreck of "Listen".

Episodes 7-10 were written by new writers for the show and so far the reviews for Kill the Moon have been very positive so that is a good sign. I've been hearing that it is the best episode so far.

I think Time Heist was better, but Kill the Moon was enjoyable, if you turn off any curiosity into the scientific aspects.

I think the end was great, felt like the whole season has been leading up to a blow out between them. Excited to see how it turns now and what leads them to coming back together with the crazy heaven lady or whoever she is.

So I take it the Doctor is.......pro-choice.

Pretty bummed on the space dragon not fucking up Earth by hatching, forcing humanity to spread out to the stars therefore propelling Clara into a legitimate grievance with the Doctor having been manipulated by him. It'd also have tied in nicely with the abortion theme showing that by keeping your space dragon, there are going to be challenges. Like your planet getting bombarded with space eggshell killing millions and yet at the same inspiring the human race to branch out.

Tying it up with a ribbon and saying space dragon spawned a new space egg felt like the writer was up at 3am and said "eh, fuck it. Moffat can deal with it."

This season has been so massively subpar. The writers are making it feel like everything is phoned it. The best episode so far was the one where everyone could have had a shadow thing following them but then they bitched and its now been clara all across time and space. This abortion episode sucked. Are we supposed to believe that in 40 years, after being there for 100,000,000 years that the moon just gained 10 billion tons and space bacteria? I know its a kids show but not even kids are this stupid

That has me wondering... Could this happened in the past? Since it relays it's egg the writer could have used that to reference stuff from history, like how every culture has some reference to dragons.

Yeah but giant dragon in the moon, we've never seen a story like that before.

    Wait...

The previous season wasn't great and the Christmas episode was so atrociously bad that I was worried for this season, but nothing could have prepared me for how disappointing this season would be. I had to watch the library of silence episodes yesterday just to get motivated to watch the new episode last night. I'm glad it was better than most of the others this season. Imop:

Good episodes of this season: First episode (dinosaur), Mummy episode
Tolerable episodes of this season: Bank episode
Shit episodes of this season: Dalek episode, Robin Hood episode, "things under your bed" episode, School episode, Moon tick episode

I almost didn't watch it last night because they'd had such a bad run. I don't blame Peter Capaldi at all and I think he's a fine doctor, but the writing has just been terrible this season. Doctor Who always relies heavily on Clarke's third law, that sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic, and I am generally fine with that because the episodes are either set far in the future or involve technology from far in the future. The issue is that lately they've been on a bit of a "deus ex doctor" streak as well, have had shitty internal consistency, and have been regularly breaking the laws of physics just for funsies. You're going to do something magical-looking with future tech, okay. You're going to have a biological organism magically create matter from energy that it doesn't have and not explain it at all, eat a bag of dicks. Let me break it down:

    Spoiler: show
Dalek episode: Totally inconsistent scale throughout the entire thing. Also, the whole colored light panels = Dalek brain thing just hurt me.
Robin Hook: This episode was particularly bad the entire way through, but the golden arrow bullshit was enraging.
Things under your bed: "Oh look at us being so clever and British and I bet you can't imagine what the ending is unless you can in which case this episode is 45 minutes of jack shit happening"
Bank episode: There was some enjoyable stuff in this episode, but even if you try and tell me that you didn't immediately figure out the doctor was sending himself to rob the bank I'm not likely to believe you.
School episode: I have never cared less about character development and been less motivated by a McGuffin. This is a type of Doctor Who episode that they've consistently produced and I've consistently hated, though, so it's not new to this season.
Moon tick episode: I just can't even. I just can't. I mean, what? It's a tick egg with a self defense force of spiders that spontaneously gains mass because it's growing and lays an egg exactly as big as itself after it hatches. What were they even thinking?
Mummy episode: Probably the best episode of the season, but what the fuck is "moving them out of phase?" Do you guys even have someone on your staff that was good at science in high school anymore?

I really hate how they've basically destroyed Clara's character, too. She has gone from being the first really reliable companion to having battered person syndrome and making consistently irrational decisions. I also fear that this season is going to conclude with the same type of deus ex bullshit that we saw in the last christmas special.
