^ this, so much this. Seriously if Capaldi had the quality of scripts Tennant had got(Granted he had a few duds but nothing on this current scale) he would easily replace him as my fav nu-doctor

Moffet is past his prime. Let him go to non-Scifi show. Let him get a lot of crap out of his system, and then go back to writing single eps for Doctor who. He can't do seasonal stories anymore.
So we are currently on Companion Watch 2014 since there are rumors that Jenna is exiting after the Christmas Special. If there is no announcement sometime around the end of Nov/early December it is safe to say she is sticking around. The rumors for a new companion have the following three names that keep popping up:
Rose Leslie - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm3310211/
Natalie Gumede - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1715378/
Michelle Keegan - http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2882021/
Michelle Keegan is currently on the UK soap Coronation Street and I don't believe she has left that show yet and to me she doesn't look/feel like she could be a good companion. Natalie Gumede is in the Christmas episode so that could be her introduction episode. Rose Leslie is my favorite of the three, but I would honestly love to see another Donna type - someone who isn't skinny, young, and infatuated with the doctor.
In order to pull this series out of its slump the Doctor will need the best companion ever.
Spoiler: show
He will Calibrate the shit out of that TARDIS.

10 septillion stars in the universe, probably just as many (or more) planets - Doctor has adventures on Earth/near Earth in 9 out of 12 episodes.
196 Countries in the world and every major event in the Universe takes place in the United Kingdom. Go figure.
Well, there was the time The Doctor 'died' in at Lake Silencio in Utah, so there's that, I guess.
probbably something to do with that rift in cardiff

Season finale gripes:
Spoiler: show
I don't know. I have to go now.
Moffat needs to go too. I'm so tired of his telegraphed hail mary plots.
He really needs to leave but so many people love him. All my real life friends have been saying it's one of the best finales of the shows series. I don't get it.
Spoiler: show
But I agree I think it is time for Moff to go. From what I am hearing, S9 will be his last as show runner with the Doctor inevitably finding Gallifrey as his swan song arc.
Wait Clara is sticking around? Please no. She's done.
Moffat's not leaving after Series 8 special? Please no. He's done.
I can't take this anymore. Doctor Who is not going to be any good again unless they both go. (Nothing against Clara, but Moff made horrible decisions with her).
