Oh Firas, ignoring you're rediculous justification for these actions:

What would you do to rebuild Afghanistan? You're OK with outside control through extremist/warlords/Iran, as long as the controllers are muslim?

Maybe Im just being premature and not giving your robust 32 stage Afghany freedom plan enough merit. Please enlighten us.

I would like to be in power in Afghanistan. Barring that, the afghans can do whatever they want.

American soldiers have not killed any palestinians to my knowledge. Israel does. When the US is the largest supplier of weapons to Israel and when the US always votes against any and all resolutions agaisnt Israel, the US aids and abbets the killing and oppresion of palestinians. Deal with it.

So yes, basically, the US kills palestinians.

I'd probably agree that the US shouldnt support Isreal on these issues, however that isnt the same as saying we are directly murdering innocents as Firas implied. Not to mention, being allies with someone (including weapons sales) does not mean their actions = our actions. Allies/allegiencies are based on need and common interest, not some unified bond that equates all actions between the nations.

As for the "Afghans can do what they want". No, no they cant. Thats the point. There are too many outside forces, warlords, and extremist here and surrounding this area to allow that. These people have been beatin down, murdered, and oppressed for ages, and rebuilding their infrastructure and government is the best chance they have to "do what they want". Leaving them alone wont solve the problem, it infact caused several of the problems we have today.

We won't solve their problems because we don't have their interests in mind. We don't represent them, they don't vote for us, and they don't know us.

US interference caused the problems we have today.

Who cares, Fira is just deflecting the question. I don't agree with a lot of what the US does. We can keep deflecting or we can just address the topic at hand. I just think it's silly to kill a man who doesn't subscribe to your version of a fairy tale. You'd have to be an idiot to support killing someone for such a laughable reason. Is David Blane next on the hit list?

Luckily the democratic government we helped establish will allow them to vote for whoever they want (including the corrupt people they currently have in power).

And no, the US didnt cause all the problems here. We caused some, but this place was a shit fest before we ever got involved. Thank the Soviets, Iranians, 500,000 mines, Extremist Islamic groups, drug lords, and a dozen other influencers bent on dominating this area.

I agree it would be funny as hell, but it wouldn't be justified. If you could kill someone for something this silly where would it end? Why not kill people who like different music then you. Down with David Bowie! We could kill all the Davids one by one.

Didn't someone post something like this in the random image thread some time ago:

    http://88.80.200.74/web/fun/adults-w...are-stupid.jpg

Funnily it misses several major religions' symbols but whatever...

When belief and superstition take priority over logic, humanity is lost.

If we manage to make ourselves extinct it will be either in the name of religion or in the name of loyalty to a country. Both are things that should never be seen as more important than logic and humanity.

Should you believe someone should be killed for practising "sorcery" for entertainment, no matter the religious implications, then you are a human without humanity, your memes are a virus and a threat to the long term survival of the species.

People are just people, but the ideas they carry (which can be changed!) are what makes someone advanced or primitive, a benefit or a danger to everyone else.

Dangerous and out-moded memes that have survived from mankind's earliest years need to be seen for what they are and given up. They are safety-blankets our ancestors used to shield their earliest societies when humans were few in number. It is time for these safety blankets to be put in a box in the loft (or burnt if the dog peed on it).

If human-kind does destroy itself, then frankly it will have deserved it as it failed to evolve memes that were advanced enough to cope with modern human technology/society.

The US government helped fund said drug lords and extremist islamic groups in order to destroy the Russian backed government and the Russian military itself. Yes, the current problem is the US's fault.

As for the democratic government, i assume you mean the same one where hamid karzai cheated at the election and the same one where tajiks and uzbeks are overrepresented because the kabul government is mostly made up of northern alliance.

What a democracy! I'll give you some advice, fix your own damn government before you go out to try to meddle in the affairs of other "countries".

i guess i didnt make it clear enough, lying does not get you killed.

lets suppose, a man was defying the government wouldnt he be punished? wouldnt he be stopped? executed yes.

The U.S invaded two countries because they thought its been challenged/attacked.

i was reading in to the story, first of all, this man signed a contract with the TV channel to do such things, and like mentioned here, he didnt perform any of the "sorcery" in Saudi.

I still stand by my opinion, but in this case, i think the channel should be closed and whoever was in control should be in court, not this man.
Happens all the time on radio programming. Freedom, it's a bitch I guess.

Yes, again: The followers of Jesus and Mohamud have killed far more people than the followers of Hitler.
