Is this normal?

Ok this might be something routine or basic or common, but I haven't had this happen to me before. Also it appears no one else I know is being prompted to do this either.

Every time I load pol I get these screens (just started today):

I'm probably being over paranoid about this but just wanted to make sure since it seemed unusual, and would require me reentering my member info, and I never did anything different that would require this all of the sudden.

Dont think you're ever prompted for Log in/ACCT info once you are passed the log in screen O.o

well I'm not passed the log in screen these are the screens when I load the game directly. I don't even get to the log in screen.

I def don't want to put my info in without knowing and sadly chat support isn't open on the weekend. ;;

[edit] is there a way for me to check and see if there is anything that got d/l into the folders? Would a virus scan find anything?

When I was mass gardening and playing a lot, this happened to me a couple times. I'm not sure what causes it, but it happens. One of those buggy things. Sometimes I would actually have to re-install playonline because of a random bug that garbled the characters on the login screen, and wouldn't allow me to log on. If you're paranoid you might as well just bite the bullet and reinstall playonline. Or if you want you can just do the 'for current members' and re-enter your info. Chances are it's not caused by some sort of malware that snuck on your computer.

Can confirm that when I played it happened to me once every 3-6 months or so. I just put in my info back as normal and all is fine.

I suspect some settings/registry gets reverted/messed up causing it to think you've not run POL before.

I had this exact thing happen to me last week.

Only thing out of my normal routines was installing a new game on the computer.

As TheStig mentions, it was just to add details again and all was normal.

I had that happen to me a while ago (2 months ish). It was fairly inconvenient but has not happened since... I just leave my character on for the most part now.

It looks like the 1st run registry key got reset. It's probably fine but if you're super paranoid I'd look through the registry keys and see if that's the case. I'm not sure what one it is though.

It's happened to me before, from what I heard at the time, it was caused by an error after exiting out via red X instead of actually shutting down/logging out.

Happens if POL's registry keys or local user data gets corrupted. Happens most often if you don't log out properly (/shutdown or /logout).

Happened to me, annoying because I couldn't even get past a certain screen for a while. Happened when I changed settings in both windower folder and regular FFXI config. Annoying.

Happens to me about every 2-3 months. Usually when I DC or just close my laptop while still logged in and 2 boxing. Forcing crashes fucks it up somehow I think

This happened to me when I picked up the latest Vanadiel pack from steam to get the addons for cheap. Nothing to be too worried about.

I actually had this happen to me. I was dual boxing and crashed and kept getting prompted by this. I tried entering in my details, but kept saying its already registed. You just have to enter another account info into that screen or w/e that you haven't already registered, and it will go back to normal.

It's nothing to worry about, I havn't had it for a long time mind you. But it did happened to me alot a couple years ago.
