    What are these Components?

I'm on Chapter 12 now and I still have no fuckin clue what these "Millerites" and other "Transformation" things are.

    How bad am I failing?

once a weapon or accessory is maxed out (has a star next to the name instead of a level), it can no longer be upgraded, instead you need to use one of those stone catalysts to transform it into a better version of that item

Fairly badly. The jewel components like the Millerites are used for accessory/weapon upgrades. Transformers are just mechanical components iirc, but I could be wrong. They have shitty exp, but stuff like Scarlatite (or however it's spelled) is used for accessories, weapons and shit.

Another component question: What's so special about the components sold by R&D Depot? I've got a few Green Needles from enemies but no idea what's so good about it. The particle accelerator that I got gave a shit load of CP, but the green needle seemed meh in comparison.

The organic components increase the exp multiplier, while the mechanical ones give the heavy xp. So you use a bunch of organic components to get the multiplier up and then use a bunch of mechanical components to unload a ton of xp into the items.

You only need 5 green needles (and 1 exp from somewhere else) to get a x3 multiplier, so it's technically ~100 gil cheaper than using diabolic tails (of which you need 24), but it's less convenient just to save such a small amount of gil so meh

Yeah I realized that. Didn't use many to realize what Alt said though. Interesting.

I think we need a sticky about how weapon/accessory leveling and transformations work. I have seen it explained in detail a few dozen times now... :/
