To be honest, I don't think an SATA shot really counts as a legitimate "inside of Abyssea" example either.

When i get home ill play around with it more to get a good test of the weapon skill but from messing around in sea i was doing 1.5-2k Scourge but what i like the most is 50% or so crit rate outside.
Wheres masenkoneed more tests
Crit rate inside abyssea is ridiculous, it's not hard to get it to 95%. I have noticed that Scourge doesn't blow quite as hard when you get Ragnarok higher. At least in Abyssea it seems pretty strong for a GS weapon skill. I'm not really sure how it is outside abyssea anymore, once I finish up the last stage maybe I'll go parse something somewhere. Or get dongo to do it. Srsly though inside abyssea, like a 95% crit rate is sort of silly.
Edit: They need to add Scourge II at 99 that can crit.
Been niggling at me for a while now and I'm still 1 kill away from testing it myself. What is the exact boost to WS'es the 90 versions get? Catastrophe in particular. Otherwiki says it gets a 4.0 ftp mod now but I've seen 3.7 mentioned too. I've also seen just a flat +25% damage suggested as well. I know that it doesn't boost DRK enough to make it a credible DD but would be nice to know what the boost was either way.
Pretty sure all relics just get the 25% damage increase at 90 on their WS.

This is average damage with lvl 85 Mandau, I swear!
The boost is a separate 1.25 modifier to the equation. The initial tests here showed that fTP wasn't changed at all. This is incredibly easy to see /w Laeden Salute (The Mythic Boost is only 15%), and slightly less obvious with the Kaiten results that were posted. If the fTP was changed, then the boost from gorgets would change respectively, which is why we know for sure.
What we don't know is if the 1.25 term is the same as WS DMG+ granted by Atma of the Griffon or WS DMG+% head piece. Would need someone with bow/gun to test it easily.

Do you mind finding and linking the post(s)? that had the "initial tests" for the fTP?. I don't recall reading any tests, lol. Er, actually, I remember reading that post that had the shield bash (aegis) stuff and the mentioning of a friend of a friend tested, et cetera. Was that the post?
The difference becomes apparent when you use WS gorgets / belts.
i'm at work, and on my phone, but there was "a friend's test" with kaiten which showed the ftp un changed with gorget, but more importantly, someone here posted laeden salute damage which is consistant. laeden salute is unique in that the ftp only affects part of the damage, which proves the boost affects the whole equation, not just the ftp.
also as pointed out, with 1-hit ws, ignoring DA/TA, the only difference between ftp boost and a new term is how gorgets/belts affect the damage.
if the ftp was boosted by 25%, then gorget + belt would increase damage by 5.8%.
if ftp was still 2.75, then gorget + belt would increase damage by 7.2%.
using the data just posted, 2520/2351 = 7.18%. it'll be more conclusive with gun/bow due to no varience, but all data points to a new term of 1.25 for relics
It makes sense too, right? They'd have had to re-add "new" relic weaponskills last update to change their fTPs (I don't think they did), or they could just add "Hidden effect: Catastrophe damage+25%" to level 90 Apoc instead.
gorgets/belts can modify a subset of ws's ftp, so it wouldn't be too crazy to have a "catastrophe ftp +.6875", but yea, the number would be weird, and vary per ws since they aren't all the same.
Yeah it makes perfect sense. I did think it was 25% but seeing 4.0 threw me and I thought something new may have cropped up. I should have known better especially considering the Leaden tests were done by Sano who is in my LS. It just completely slipped my mind that he had done them. Thanks for the responses.
