Bostaunieux Oubliette isn't as bad as I thought it would be. There are plenty of leeches to sustain a steady flow of WSs. I don't even bother erasing acid mist since less damage means more WS/mob. Didn't have a lot of time yesterday, but only 1298 to go!

I went through 1500 killshots in 5 days in TBT. I dunno what's so bad about it really.

I was scouting for mobs, IIRC theres 2 sets of 3 along the west path that I believe were aggro free. My memory could be wrong, but there were definitely some in there.

Why would you bother to do the Magian Trials for any mage relic? Damage+ isn't going to improve its mage stats, and Vido is a magic based WS so weapon base damage has no impact on its damage. Are you hoping SE is going to wise up and give it an MAB+40 level 3 upgrade or something?

Well people are pinning their hopes that since the other trials start out shitty, and get useful shit at stages 4-5, that it will be the same for these, have to get the shitty ones out of the way first.

I agree. Unless Claustrum is getting Avatar prep cost -5 on trial 3 and Magic potency 20% (including pets) on trial 4, then it is a huge waste of time to even do those trials in my opinion.
SE did make new Elemental type staves and some prep cost-4 staves.
They also made good multihit weapons and mandau DMG+2 seems fishy enough to warrant a possible Occ.attacks twice in the future. Lets hope SE wised up on mage weapons but I highly doubt it.

The relics are also static I think in the sense that all their trial 1 and trial 2 will be DMG, and all their trial 3 and 4 will be delay for example, and then all their trial 5 will be something unique to their job like "enhances martial arts" for MNK knuckles "Magic potency 20%" for claustrum. "Damage taken -7% for Aegis". If it works like that, then things could get interesting but I do not want to get my hopes up for something to turn out gimp in the end result. (ex. Claustrum DMG+35 acc+40 at level 99 and thats it).

I didn't actually upgrade that staff, Beanbean did. I do the trials because bean stopped and with the hope that SE might make trial 3 and 4 something useful.

As for me, I'm upset there are no Gjallarhorn trials. But I guess All Songs +2 is good enough.

Once you get done with leeches I'd recommend Kuftal for lizards. There's no FOV competition and you get to kill Amemet about 20 times...

Seeing as the Magian Trials is currently only for weapons - it does make sense for them to lack instruments / Aegis at this point. Here's hoping for +1 extra to GHorn. Maybe +2 total in the trial I'm assuming will give weapons OAT.

Finished up after getting home tonight. Glad to finally be done with all those leeches. TP Drainkiss can bite me. Guess I'm farming Amemet for a while starting tomorrow!
