I dont see a reason to test that when off handed relic is just base dmg daley...
Unless you realy want to look good in town with 2 Exca.

You just can't level sync down to 75 and use old camps.

I gotta ask... It's been what? 5 years? How many more merits could you possibly have? Not trolling, I'm actually curious. I got 6 jobs fully merited and have done only a handful of actual merit parties(got most of my merits goofing off, farming etc...) I know a couple of people 75 with all jobs fully merited.

It's just one of those things I just don't see meriting specifically an issue. Maybe if they added more, but not right now.

This is an interesting point, because Excal's total damage increases so minorly with upgrades that losing the additional effect proc while synced might make it not worth upgrading. Then again, there's almost no reason to be using Excalibur in a level 75 sync situation.

Well only PLD can use Excalibur with A skill and you'll be using shield everytime, so it's really just a slight damage bonus. Yes it's amazing relic with right buffs and in right situations, but if you ask me, it was never worth it considering it's price. Might aswell buy a DD relic for a whole alot cheaper. I only got it cause i loved RDM and the job still doesn't have a relic of its own.

merit is a term I use to define "endgame xp", not necessarily towards gaining limit points. What happens when your amano sam is down to 2k xp buffer?

I personally have just been goofing off still, got my Amano Sam to 79, and other jobs up as well doing FoV/Campaign/Helping with Magian trials, etc; with one or two actual exp parties peppered in there. There's no "free" exp camps in most cases, and even Ro'Mauve looks like Grand Central Station on a bad day. I prolly do a good 25k/day just screwing off. Hell, made like 5 or 6k getting revenge in Sacrarium with my buddy for an hour or two killing everything I could lay my sword on...

I think the sense of urgency is what's hurting people mostly. If you can shed that, things are a lot less stressful. You'll get to 80, but you ain't going to do it sitting on your ass in Whitegate complaining like most people are. (General statement, not targeting anyone) It's been a week, If I can bumble my ass to 80 casually; I don't see High level EXP being a real issue.

Anyways derail off. Everything I said is neither here nor there really.

I'm not really looking forward to the next one because it seems like the kill count is only going up on these things. I think they should add some variety to it. Instead of having kill X amount of Y, it should be something that goes along with the jobs using it. Drain a certain amount of hp with excal, do a certain amount of lights with amano, etc etc.

And I think I saw someone mention this before but, I'd really like to see some more story go along with these. Our relics are leveling up with us, I'm sure they have something to say about it all. It'd also be awesome if we had to go kill a certain NM or do a BC that involved something in our relics story for some of these upgrades. Will that happen? Probably not. -_-;

Exactly, oh please i can't stress that issue enough lol. How about this: You get thrown in Dynamis area with all the past relic NPCs with their superb weapons and skills. Then you just beat the shit outa em all :q. I sure would love to see Guttler action from NPC: GUTTLLER WANTS BLOOD <meditate> MORE MORE BLOOD.

Nah but being realistic, how about a battle against the true form of the relic weapon? Well true form maybe a little wrong wording, because... its as true as it can get, i mean theres nothing but a floating relic weapon lol.

Let's say for example: Some evil spirit takes over Kilhwch's spirit (past Excalibur holder) and the spirit want's to challenge you in Dynamis area. When you beat the evil spirit, the real past holder wakes up again and shows his gratitude by making your relic stronger.

There's the issue of how much effort is justified to make the relic quests more interesting.

I think SE went a bit too far with mythic quests already; content that maybe 1% of population will see is not worth so much effort, in my opinion. Is it worth any effort at all, though? Well, in this case it is.. but not more-so than with the content aimed for majority of the people (other magian trials). It's monotonous no matter what trial you're doing, only for relic weapons even more. Which is why you're still 'the best' as far as weapons are concerned.
