    Magian weapons: which one to go for? I am learning more to the bottom one atm.
    Thinking about just the PUP's damage, I think I'd go for the +21damage +55delay one. Thinking this could be better than +18 +66 +4STR +12Att (haven't done the math).
    As for the Automaton weapons, I'd for sure get a +5MAB one (more reliable than the stupid random Pixie weapons, which couldn't go beyond +3MAB anyway, as far as I know).
    I'd be more thorn about choosing +10Macc or +5Mab.
    10 Macc won't be enough to avoid equipping tranquillizer, and won't be all that needed if you equip one, so I'm leaning toward +5Mab.

    Getting a third weapon with +pet att/pet ratt could be good, but I don't really know if it's worth the time/effort. If I had nothing else to do I'd go for that, definitely, but seeing as I still need to bring all my subjobs to 49 I think I'll focus on that and wait to see how this TotM thing evolves, before going all crazy on that, wasting months on getting me lots of weapons, and then regretting it in June.
    Think I'll do only a couple of them for now, one for PUP/MNK probably, and another one for another job (the NIN Katana seemed particularly good as Mainhand)

    All the "pet :" weapon are worse than hades sainti NQ. The only weapone that seem to be worth it are D+21 delay 355 and D+17 delay +140, but just for the info they hardly beat destroyers on MNK. Since PUP need acc more often than not they won't beat HQ hades probably or lucky fey weapon augments.

    Ok did some mathy for Hades sainti+1 vs D+21 delay +55 for PUP/NIN, brutal, full usukane (19 store TP)


    other assumption : 1.2 pdif non crit, 2.2 crit, also assuming same pdif during stringing pummel and the same crit% for mele / ws : 10%, 95% accuracy for SP & melee. Also assuming 5 fstr.


    Hades Sainti +1


    with 10% crit the average pdif is
    pdif1:=1.2*0.90+0.10*2.2

    SP damage average :
    5.85*(32+19+5+0.83*0.35*(110+75))*pdif1*0.95
    melee damage per round :
    0.95*(2.1*(32+19+5)*pdif1)
    average round till 100 TP : 6.858

    damage per second :
    (0.95*(2.1*(32+19+5)*pdif1)*6.858+5.85*(32+19+5+0. 83*0.35*(110+75))*pdif1*0.95)/(409*6.858 )*60
    =38.26 damage per second

    D+21 delay+55(note : both weapon don't have the same TP/hit lol. 6.5 and 6.6)

    SP damage average :
    5.85*(32+19+5+0.83*0.35*(110+75))*pdif1*0.95)
    melee damage per round :
    (0.95*(2.1*(32+21+5)*pdif1)
    aerage round till 100 TP : 6.851

    damage per second :
    (0.95*(2.1*(32+21+5)*pdif1)*6.851+5.85*(32+19+5+0. 83*0.35*(110+75))*pdif1*0.95)/(415*6.851)*60
    =38.47

    conclusion
    without the +9 accuracy and other stats on HS+1, the second weapon is therefore only 0.54% better, which means that as soon as accuracy is more or less required HS+1 will win

    Note : if you want to compare it to NQ hades sainti you can do the same math and get 37.56 dps so the new weapon is 2.4% better, so as long as the 7 acc are needed, NQ hades is also better (and probably wagh too).

    Questions regarding PUP

    Not sure where to post this, so move me if needed. But I have taken up leveling PUP, and doing it solo just for fun. I'm wondering if there are any ways to shorten the recast for spells like cure. I have Mana Booster and I know the deactivate/activate trick but that doesn't really work for cure when you are using SW frame/head. Any other good PUP advice is appreciated thanks.

    Optic Fiber should shave a couple more seconds off assuming you already have Mana Booster equipped.

    Other than MB+OF, and D.A.D. there isn't anything you can do to shorten recast length.

    Not sure what specific advice you're looking for but...

    Mana Booster's effect increases with more Ice Maneuvers. -2 seconds without Ice Maneuver and an additional -2 with each one. Before this update I tended to use 1x Ice, 1x Dark, 1x ___ (based on the specific status effect I wanted like, for example, Slow, I would use Earth Maneuver) or an additional Ice for soloing.

    SW's frame/head will have a longer recast by 2 seconds compared to Soulsoother

    Currently I can not remember if it was proven that Turbo Charger has any effect on recast time of spells

    I don't recall there being proof that Optic Fiber will affect Mana Booster but this is almost always put on nearly all frames anyway. One light maneuver for Optic Fiber would be 20% which is almost no difference on Mana Booster if it did work so a "couple of seconds" doesn't make sense.

    Always thought Optic Fiber Trimmed a second or two off of recast with 2-3 Ice up. However, my knowledge is outdated and my memory foggy. This may just be wishful thinking.

    This information helps. I was just wondering because all too many times I've been fighting a worm and it's damage output is higher than my automaton's healing output. He'll Cure II me for 82 HP and before the next Cure II the worm has done like 130-150 damage.

    They'd still be great for strategies where you aren't actually engaged.

    I gave up on "pet : something" augment when I brought PUP to JoL a few month ago. 100% resist rate with 3 ice manoeuvers, chance of 1/4 resist during MB, and no way to control its spell..

    So today while doing Limbus I noticed that Valoredge, while taking similar damage to me with physical AoEs, it was taking slightly less damage from Magic AoEs

    Example was like Aqua Ball me for 180 but hit it for 142.

    If I had to guess, .75 fTP + 5 additional hits + gorget. I wouldn't calculate it that way personally but whatever. I never saw the point of carrying the entire damage formula out when you can get an accurate comparison by doing far less work.
