I wasn't implying that playing at the max meant people should be retarded and forget about the defensive aspects of the game as well. To me at least, playing to your max is using the right abilities at the right time in the right priority order (at least that is what i like to call it). Though there is variance in the priority order which is due to human error sometimes but that is normal and no one really should be an elitest about that. (As long as its small and it's not like WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU NUKING THAT YOU SHOULD BE SLEEPGAING THE 20 MOBS HITTING ME OMG)
In an exp pt though DD's should be going all out for the most part though so less time alive, less time spent curing/casting shadows. Not to mention its easier to set the pace at rape the shit out of it than to second guess the hate meter and having it attack someone for longer than neccesary.
For priority order I'm referring to the fact of what should be casted/used and in what order given the situation.
Example
In exp pts i always make sure dia + haste is up always before bothering with slow or para because i categorize dia and haste into killing faster. Meanwhile i put slow and para into surviability and I always try to prioritize killing faster than survivability if I am not going to run out of MP. (though slow and para could be argued that less time the mob hits someone the less they have to cast utsusemi thus lowering kill speed)
Did BG start rebating the Time Wasted reading a thread that has been utterly worthless since at least page 3?
Here's the TL;DR version for anyone arriving late:"Hay I does not believes in teh lies of maths, gaiz!!"
"U should beleaves teh maths, doodz!!!"
"nowai i liek haz shinines and shitz, yo!"![]()
Pchan can't even reply without being insulting. Shocking. And just to comment on MMJ, my hit rate was around 88% there before the update with sushi. So no, we won't cap with pizza but I'm willing to bet PUPs can get a high rate.
Let's look at this another, more logistic way. Can you name some HNMs that a MNK would be consistently attacking on that a smart, well geared PUP can't do well on? Be sure to take into account that said HNM can't be nuked with the BLM head (i.e chariots, SCNMs, VHMNs, certain ZNMs) because said PUPs would most likely focus on that instead of melee.
If it's an HNM, I don't feel it's ever their place for Puppetmasters to be meleeing. Not when they can get tons of pet-enhancing gear, sit back, do plenty of damage, and not be a MP-sponge or risk whatsoever. It's all questionable when you have better jobs who need the slot. But, oh well, thus is the life of a "jack of all trades" job. Hallo there, BLU.
monk is a dps whore and really doesn't have a lot of place in hnm. pup is not as effective, hence even less desirable in that aspect.
lolchildren
again gtfo of my pt if you are going to be doing that shit you are just wasting everyone's time
His point was that PUP is less desirable at HNMs than MNK, which isn't the case at all (or at least not all of them).
What other job can solo using a cheat besides PUP. Or does that little "trick" even work anymore ?(referring to the solo diabolos thing, attack then release).
Diabolos cheat iirc was him ignoring the pet completely from up on the ramp.
The PUP trick involving automaton deactivate only works once a minute thanks to the delay added to it during the ADD nerf long ago, good luck trying to solo a mob without its HP regenning back to full. Would need around 3 PUPs to abuse that trick. Alternate multiple PUPs, one to damage, the other to keep DoTs on. Would be slow kills.
