I'll give it a try tomorrow, unless someone beats me to it.
I just don't know which weapons even overlap yet
Wrote this down for my own convenience, thought I'd share:
Code:Katana path requirements: 578 -> 580 581->585 Mozu (36/227 Dmg +7) 586->587 587->588 Izatu (21/222 Dmg +13 Dly +10 atk twice) 587->591 Izatu (21/222 Dly +20 atk twice) 578 3x Zi'Ghi Bone Eatr 579 3x Lumbering Lambert 580 3x Deadly Dodo 581 4x Gargantua 582 4x Megalobugard 583 3x Ratatoskr 584 6x Jyeshtha 585 6x Capricornus 586 400 Birds [non-exp] 587 300 Cluster [non-exp] 588 10 Ruthven's Nails 589 500 Vermin [non-exp] 590 600 Demon-type [non-exp] 591 400 Raffelsia Family [non-exp]
Den of Rancor has a few lizards too
You can't undertake the same trial on more than 1 weapon at a time, it seems. So even if you were to dual-wield two different Magian Weapons, I doubt you'd find a time where the conditions for both trials matched.
I've answered it three times ;;
164-165->178-181 Sword looks nice for BLU, results in
DMG:43 / Delay:230
DEX+4 ACC+8
Compare to Perdu which is DMG:44, ATT+15 ACC+5, Perdu is a lot better by meleeing standpoint, but that Soulsaber would be much better for casting for BLU, or, in the case, of /NIN, Perdu/Soulsaber would give +15 ATT +13 ACC +4 DEX.
I've been wondering about this. Not sure how I go about determining what's better due to the fact Blu will be spellcasting as well as melee.
I'm guessing for pure melee dmg, the occasionally attacks twice is better? Or would the above Soulsaber be a better offhand because of the acc and mod to the Big3.
Mainly just wondering though where Koggelmander falls with respect to these, and also what place the Nobolis with Dmg47 dly236 has.
I have 0 interest in Nobilis. Base DMG means very little to me, and its only +3 over Perdu anyways. Does your Savage Blade numbers mean much to you? The base damage obviously won't influence spells.
Koggelmander is still nice, but I don't have one so Soulsaber with +4 DEX +8 ACC is a must for me. If I had one, I'd still get a Soulsaber and mix and match the swords based on your needs. Dodgey mob? Perdu/Soulsaber. Casting zerg? Koggel/Soulsaber. Imp fun? Take your pick/Demon Slayer. Its at the very least situationally usable, and if one doesn't have a Koggelmander, a must-have.
Occasionally Attacks Twice sword would be a nice toy, and I'll admit it was what first caught my eye and what was initially tempted to pursue, but I know I get TP in time for Chain Affinity recast anyways, so its a niche/play toy in my mind. Wouldn't be bad offhand for Vorpal Blade spamming during casual stuff, but not as groundbreaking as other jobs Occasionally Attacks Twice weapons.
Nobilis is a slight downgrade from Perdu when accuracy capped, though the higher weapon rank is a small boost. If you need Perdu's accuracy it's even worse. I wouldn't give it up for Koggelmander personally, but I could be wrong in doing so.
DEX/ACC one caught my eye, but I'm generally at least capping accuracy when BLU melee is viable so I'm not sure how much I really stand to gain from that. Guess I could swap in the new Haste pieces with it or something. I'll probably just get the multihit one and call it a day though.
Somewhat related, but I'm having a hell of a time tracking Ishtar's PH with people killing all the dhalmels (even people in my party telling them not to, stupid JPs). How does one go about editing mob names in the DATs? Figure that could save me a lot of grief scanning/running.
I might have completely missed it, but has anyone done any number crunching to see if the Dmg +21 delay +55 Mantis weapons would beat destroyers/hades +1? might think of working towards them if they do.
I wonder...
If you already have one type of RA/EX weapon from Test of the Magians, like the Athame dagger for example, would it still be possible to obtain another Athame but with different stats? Even the same stats?
Was wondering since there are so many different kinds of stats for each weapon...
