Actually, the 1st 3 including the spider were all very good to me on the respawns. Haven't even seen this mother fucking Bird ONCE yet though, ready to /wrist here.
Not too worried about VNM because as you said they're force spawned and a lot of people are doing them (and since I just need the kill shouldn't be hard to get people to do 'em, especially with cap increases)
Honestly it's the final stage with the Abyssea shit that bothers me...
It'd be a fair assumption that anyone w/o it would most likely be an incompetent player, thus not worth discussing this for in the first place, however.
I can confirm that the Wamoura Princes count.
All the talk about Hagun vs. Store TP GKT got me looking at the Sword version.
Looks like with the Store TP sword (DMG:37+11, Delay:238, Store TP+9) and OAThrice Khanda, plus Rajas/Brutal/W.Tath and Store TP trait set, I could get down to 14 hits to 100%. Considering the relative ease of getting this weapon vs. other options, I'll think I'll use it as a stop-gap until I can manage an Almace or Shamshir.
Otherwiki has this listed:
Spitfire
DMG:15+36
Occ. deals dbl. dmg.
Lv.80 RNG/COR
That would be the same base dmg as Bedlam, but with much easier trial requirements, and would be a nice gun to use while pretending I'll ever finish Armageddon.
It appears to fall into the same trial path as the double attack+ weapons. Can anyone confirm this gun, and if the Occ. deals dbl. dmg. is similar in effect to Ranger's Double Shot?
Is the OA2-3 times Sword worth it to have as a Joytoy/Khanda combo for Red Mage?
I expect that this will be different from Occ. atk. twice, which is what Double Shot adds.
With my Dragonmaw or with Double Shot active, you have a chance of shooting once, but two shots appear in the log. If both land, you get TP for each shot as if you had fired them separately. Think of it like a chance for a miniature Barrage every time you ranged attack.
In the case of Occ. deals dbl. dmg., I would expect this to work much more like the hidden effect of Yoichinoyumi and Annihilator. Every now and then (possibly 5% of the time, if the other Double Attack weapons are any indication) your shot will fire and deal double the damage it normally would. It's still one ranged attack, so you get TP for that shot alone, it just did 2x the damage it should have.
The question in my mind is, can the Occasionally deals double damage bow/gun also proc on Barrage? For the hidden effect on relic, the answer is yes. There aren't enough RNG's with Gastraphetes for us to know if Lv3 Aftermath (which is also described as Occasionally deals double damage) does or doesn't work for Barrage. Fortunately, I have Fiendishone on my server and he has a Death Penalty which has the same Lv3 Aftermath. If both of us can find some spare time, we're going to try and test this out with him on COR/RNG. I'm pretty excited to see what turns up.
There's a whole heap of new info come about in the past week or so, and I'm sure this has been posted before but I can't find it, so I'm gonna put it here: mobs in abyssea count for Magian trials. Was in Konschat [A] yesterday on firesday, tried killing a lizard to see if it would count for my H2H trial, and it did. Something to consider if you're looking for mobs.
If this guy is to be trusted http://www.ffxiah.com/player.php?id=244187 then sadly it does not work. From his very broken English of mentioning it doesn't work "now" I'm not entirely sure if that means it once did.
That'd be pretty impressive, I look forward to seeing the results. In the mean time, I suppose I'll get started on the weapon this weekend, it's not too terribly difficult barring the fact that the final mob hasn't been found yet afaik. Hopefully it won't be as much of a bottleneck as the gems are for Armageddon.
Not gonna post here but if anyone's interested in DPS theory craft for Mandau/(InsertNewMagianWeaponHere) combinations, I've been cranking the math guns; feel free to PM.
What're your thoughts on Mainhand/offhand options now for us non-relic wielders?
Working on Twashtar, and almost finished the DEX Kila. Haven't seen any discussion on what's the best Mainhand/Offhand options for THF anywhere.
I don't agree that it should be a super high priority, personally. I do believe the majian weapons have higher than normal proc rates. However I don't know how much higher. On lower level stuff, you can just proc acid bolts. On anything where you're not using acid bolts and are instead using bomblet/core, it's because your DPS matters to the point where you don't have time to fire off a bolt (ie meripo). For such a situation as that, you'd want higher DPS weapons rather than the defense down weapon anyway. Further, for situations where you'd really want to be able to take advantage of the -def, such a mob (HNM level) might be able to resist your enfeeble quite a bit. And on top of that, it won't be able to stack with many other defense down sources ;/, like angon.
Not saying it's bad and I'd love to have one. Lots of the debuff weapons look great. But magian trials take so damn long >,<.
Sorry Kuishen but I don't have anything I can really say about that right now
The reason is because I'm in a really disgruntled state about the.. state of the DPS formulas as they apply to thief. I can give you my hunches, backed up by incomplete napkin math hardly better than my eyeballing hunches, if you want. You can also look at this thread for now if you want as it'll probably keep gettin updated.
He's JP.
Sounds like he's just saying that he's not sure if it's glitched or if there are certain conditions that need to be met for this to occur, and to pass along any new info to him.Gastraphetes doesn't generate double damage of the LV3 Aftermath in Barrage and WS now. It is not understood whether it is trouble or there is an occurrence condition. Please teach when there is knowing.
Anyone completed the DA+7% sword/dagger/axe/club? Hoping for confirmation the DA increase applies for both hands when dual-wielding.
I dont think if thats even possible. We dont know whats Khalamari is (do we?) but we know what Adze is and its NM that spawn by itself means you probably cant kill him more then once per stone (if you lucky).
So 30 stones = 25 days if you would go every 20h to kill specyfic NM on specyfic job with weapon equipped on kill. I dont think its even 25 days from realisng the abbysea.
