I have been looking for information on the most efficient way to complete my flan trial (169) on BLU. I don't have RDM or PLD leveled, so killing on BLU is my only option. If you have suggestions or past experience, please answer the following questions:

    Which Flans did you fight?
Where did you camp? (I'm thinking the 6 Black puddings @ Halvung, Map 1, between the (G-9) and (H-11) area)
Did you primarily complete this trial solo?
What was your kill / day ratio? (fire weather does not exist)
What solo, duo, pt, ect. techniques / strategies would you suggest to reach said ratio?
Do other anamorphs work? (probably not, but just in case)

I appreciate any help you can give me!

This. I'll be there soon enough and would love some insight to make this less painful.

edit: guessing it may be because of this trial:
    Trial 1765: Quetzalli / Kills: 30
I got Dragonmaw pre-patch, and it's a totally different path now. I actually considered doing the bow version of that, but I learned that "occasionally deals double damage" from Lv3 aftermath on Gastraphetes and Death Penalty doesn't work for Barrage. If it did, then I think the "dbl dmg" ranged weapons would be tons if fun, if only to see a double proc Barrage every now and then and pretend you have a relic.

    Ebony Puddings in Halvung

    Where did you camp?
Past the Greater Colibri camps, there's a zone leading to a somewhat small map of Halvung with 4 puddings, 2 antares scorpions, and an archaic mirror (don't worry, the guardians aren't TS/TH). Zoning to Mt. Zhayolm leads to the Anantaboga Isle, so just go straight after zoning and you'll eventually zone back into Halvung (a different map) with 5 more puddings.

Did you primarily complete this trial solo?
Mostly duoed, the one time that I soloed I almost died and only got about 12 kills.

What was your kill / day ratio?
About 30 with only two people

What solo, duo, pt, ect. techniques / strategies would you suggest to reach said ratio?
Make sure to have dispels set, as well as MP drainkiss and (optional) Magic Hammer. Don't go all out spamming spells; most of your damage will come from melee, and Sanguine Blade helps a lot.

Do other anamorphs work? (probably not, but just in case)
    No
    answers in bold
edit: another thing you can do is /sea mtzhayolm before firesday starts, to see if there's a group in the "blm burn camp". BLMs barely use it nowadays

    I just got this:

I guess its smart to not use "Double Shot" with this gun? Anyone tried yet?

I'm trying to get the OAT gun nevertheless sooner or later and see what performs better overall.

Check out the Ebony Pudding camp in Mount Zhayolm (H-7) on your server. On Valefor, at least, there were anywhere from 4-12 people, consistently, at those flans every Firesday. The vast majority will probably be JP players but you'll all know why you're there and teaming up shouldn't be an issue.

If there's a group there, you should be clearing anywhere from 50-70 flans in an hour; with enough people you'll start beating the respawns, so you'll never really get much higher than that. I did my entire trial in these groups, it took 4 firesdays (the last one only lasted ~10 minutes as I finished off my kills).

If you're going solo, Zhayolm flans will be a bit tricky to kill quickly. The Halvung area you mentioned is a good spot for solo but it'll be very slow. Often you will see some people at the Halvung flans as well; if there are 3-4 there try and convince them to move to the Ebony Puddings in Zhayolm as things will go much faster.

For both places, the highest level flans ever get is even match so don't worry about accuracy or resists. Keep head butt around to stun the -gas, and you'll want to have battery charge, drainkiss, and auto refresh all set to help you cut loose on each mob, especially if you're killing fast. Most of my groups were just other melee so I had a mnd set on hand for Plenilune and cured them up when they got hit to 50% hp or so.

And while technically fire weather can spawn in both places, I never saw it once.

While you may have your hands full with flans, here's an advance tip for the next trial: Blus can head to Grauberg for their Vermin kills, run to the big area in the south with Treants, and kill chigoes. Disseverment and Hysteric will both one-shot chigoes with complete ease and there are an absolute ton of chigoes in that area, generally hanging around the small bushes. The only concern is the NM that occasionally spawns, who will kill you easily. The only real way to tell if the NM is nearby is if you find a group of 3 chigoes in one spot; regular chigoes will only be in groups of 2, or rarely 4. After finishing flans I went to Grauberg with ~40 minutes of firesday left and cleared over 50 vermin with ease, so you'll blow throw the trial really quickly. Last point: critical hit kills for chigoes will not count. Don't melee them unless you're sure the hit will kill them normally.

A secret us blms don't like to often share is a standard mini-pt setup can tear flans apart if you setup SC's ahead of time. LSmates of mine were trio'ing puddings while I solo'd to help one of them with DRK scythe trial. They were either making darkness or light and it was absolutely decimating the pudding.

I posted this in Random Questions but remembered that's where good questions go to die.

    Is this:

    http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__...etto_T1136.png

worth getting for THF? Does anyone know if the Evisceration DMG bonus activates if this is in the off-hand?

Thinking about making it just to see for myself, it's not really that much work lol

    That dagger is 37 damage, what would you mainhand instead? o_o;

Unless you have the epic dmg dagger, if so thatd be awesome to combine with it.

I know the store tp dagger is better for dnc cause it aids in soloing the SC a lot, but for thf I got no idea, sorry =/

I'd go for the dex + agi dagger combo though imo for SATA, prolly a bigger boost then 10% for eviscration, those will boost damage of SATA melees AND the weaponskill if you pair it, as opposed to the eviscration dagger being ws only.

I dunno if the str or agi dagger would be better though.

    Auric is DMG:39.

If anyone's run the numbers, do share please. It feels like there's a thousand dagger combinations and I have no idea which will be optimal.

And Kila's are 38-39 also so the question is what combo of daggers would Urat use that 37 dagger would be the one with biggest dmg lol.

I have that dagger (yes, on my Bard), but I'd have no idea how I could effectively test it. I cannot find another D37 dagger against which to compare it.

Hm... good point. I guess DMG could be calculated using formulas for lv1 mobs though (like rabbits in wron, bees in sgusta, etc.) Do some Eviscerations with it in main hand, then some with it in off-hand, and post your stats and I'll try to crunch the numbers. Or feel free to PM it to me.

That doesn't work unless he can find another D37 dagger to main-hand. I can do this tonight when I get home. I have the Cyclone enhancing dagger at the moment, so it's much easier to test.

I might have to try this with my RDM when I can get the conditions right for my wife's dagger trials. I think she has an "Any mob on x-day" trial for her dagger soon, so if I can find a low enough level sync and the right day, I'll see what happens.

I really only found this by accident when the level-syncee ran to jeuno and got the "xx objectives remain" message followed immediately by "no xp gained, level-syncee is out of range or dead" message.

Just a quick question, but has anyone finished the inferior "high damage" (the ones that use WoE coins x30) weapons?

The damage boost does not seem to work offhand for the Cyclone dagger (works mainhand). 144 damage with Parazonium/Fusetto, 144 damage with Parazonium/Dakini.
